100%. DM your stuff if you don't mind.

It is a give and take. The problem is today the artist does the heavy lifting and STILL gets crumbs.
I'm a long ways away from where I want to be musically. It'll be at least a year ? Maybe two? Before I'm ready to share any content on TheColi.
I think I will eventually. :pachaha: @Ziggiy inspires me in that regard, breh really puttin' on for Black Folks offline and doing his thing.

Streaming is harder imo.

Streaming music would never be harder than actually selling music. You don't have to go anywhere to stream music. You're not waiting on radio to play your favorite song. You're not going to a record store to buy an album. Streaming is the easiest most convenient way to consume music.

For the customer it’s easier for us to consume music by streaming it but no matter the year the hardest part of being an artist is selling it to be consumed which is why millions have been spent on marketing.

Lol I can purchase a physical album from Amazon or anywhere else in 30 seconds. Sooooooo no one has to go anywhere to buy an album. Been that way for a decade.

Artists are still waiting on radio to play their song plus they’re hoping to get their songs on playlists.

It’s arguable that it’s harder to be a new artist and succeed then it was in the past

The name of the game today is getting people to listen. Artists aren't actually selling music any more. It's them getting to people to listen via streaming platforms as actually selling music is obsolete, which is why they've replaced it with streaming and attempted to combine traditional sales with streaming, which doesn't make sense because it's not the same.

Streaming and sales is 2 different things that should NEVER equate. Rules change. U cant really quantify it. It's easier for labels to manipulate. It's just overall a trash way to count sales. On top of that. It's essentially a rental. Voting with you pockets is always gonna be harder to do.

The name of the game has ALWAYS been to get people to listen. What are you talking about?

Artists never stopped selling music. Why is this a talking point? Y’all just aren’t buying the physicals. Not even that you can still buy the digitals but nobody is even doing that.

You to vote with your time which is arguably more valuable
New album comes out. I get on my phone. Automatically stream it. I don't have to pay a single cent. lol. On top of that. It's made for kids. Because only kids have time to sit around and stream music all day. Adults don't. It's not really fair. And like I said. It's easier for a label to manipulate. U don't see barely any independent artists "selling" records. Even if they were selling previously on a major label the year before.

Don't play. They literally took physical music out of most retail stores. They only ship few artists to certain stores like Target. Aside from that. They took it from Best Buy. There's no more Sam Goody. No more Tower Records. No more FYE. All of that shyt is either online or obsolete. U got artists who MAY sell physical copies on their site. Then even with itunes. Its WAY harder to navigate than apple music and if someone has apple music why the fukk would they go all the way to itunes? Purchase an album and take up space on their phone? Because guess what. Independent music devices and basically obsolete as well. I been streaming music since Zune. It was a dope OPTION. But it replacing actually purchasing albums is dirt. U gotta be damn near tech savvy to purchase music these days. These muthafukkas pull music from streaming left n right without us knowing. Music is the only form of entertainment where shyt like this is acceptable as a sales replacement.

so streaming is made for kids? What? Man you’re it’s talking nonsense

People never stop selling music. NOBODY is purchasing it the physicals though.

The anti streaming convo makes no sense because most of your favorite artists physicals sales were garbage cause of pirating. Now due to streaming and the fact saw of it they can at least make something from having a steady amount of listeners

You're not getting what I'm saying. Listening to a song is now more important than ever because that's essentially what you're doing on a streaming service. Before streaming, you actually had to buy the album. Listening to a song didn't count towards anything now it does.

You’re still talking another retails stores but you can spend 10 seconds and find a physical for majority of artists to buy and order it online. And if you still wanted to spend money you can buy the digital album and have it forever. But NOBODY is doing that

nikka ask 5 adults where they can go online to buy the music and I bet u 4 out of 5 wont know. They do NOT make it easy to navigate and purchase music and if u say they do your lying. Im not AGAINST streaming music. Im against it being counted as a sale because its a lie. There's no real way to quantify it. It actually doesnt exist. Not all music is available for sale either. For instance. Nas' Magic wasnt available for sale at release. Only streaming. Again the music industry is the ONLY form of entertainment that counts streaming as a sale. There is a REASON for that.
