Tony Starks was always a good character even before they got Downey to play the part. A billionaire playboy who's an alcoholic There's certain characters that work well outside of comics.. Daredevil is a lawyer that happens to be blind.. You draw the action seeking crowd with his acrobatics and fighting then you can also draw in the other demographics with the courtroom drama, citywide corruption, and legal affairs. Nobody ever gave a sh*t about Henry Pym even in the comics. His only real claim to fame is creating Ultron.

I didn't say he wasn't a good character, I'm just saying that not many people cared about dude before the movies.

I'm not as much worried about the movie being about Ant-Man as I am worried about the fact this movie is about Scott Lang instead of Hank Pym. At least Pym has some interesting stuff going on personality-wise, Scott Lang is just a bland character in the comics and it looks like they're trying to make him into "wise-cracking everyday guy hero #3" of the MCU.

Premise is no more ridiculous than Guardians of The Galaxy, difference is this one looks backlogged as fukk and doesn't look like it's contributing going forward. Terrible decision to make a movie around the Scott Lang character instead of Hank Pym, which in turn directly affected their Avengers movies never should have been sanctioned.

Well to be fair I think they didn't want to deal with all the off putting aspects of hank like the wife slapping and psychosis . Plus feige said that this a big springboard toward phase 3 so I'm gonna reserve judgement

I mean I could say that Forge is a valuable character to the Xmen seeing that he builds all that dope hardware for them. Doesn't make him popular to many comic fans.

None of the wife slapping stuff had to be in the film/continuity breh. The material for a good Hank Pym and Janet film was all there instead we get a small-scale Scott Lang story that feels like it will be a one-off thing. They're now giving his(Pym) trademark storylines to other characters because of the direction of the film.

The Ant-Man movie should have been the perfect lead-in to what they're doing in the second Avengers movie not the other way around
