It’s not a hard concept to grasp. Those of us with roots here for centuries, the label Black American encompasses our race AND ethnicity. One can move to Nigeria and become a Nigerian citizen but that citizenship doesn’t entitle you to label yourself Yoruba if you’re not of that tribe. Same concept applies here… race does not equal ethnicity.
