Dude's doing A LOT of splainin
This is what pisses me off. He tries to act like he didn't know there were kids or anyone else on the helicopter, which is bullshyt because the initial reports came out that there were multiple people who died. First it was five, then it was confirmed to be nine, then Rick Fox was on, then he wasn't, then all all four of his daughters were on board, then it was confirmed to be only Gianna. You would think, even as an 'edgy' comedian, he would have had enough awareness to think, "Hey, the details of this crash are very sketchy right now, and this bit may not go over very well. Maybe I should at least wait until all the facts come out before I start talking my shyt?
"
And also the fact that he tries to hide it behind 'comedy' when there was no joke or punchline in anything he said. In both his tweet and his IG video, he says, "A guy who got away with rape is dead. People are only celebrating him because they care more about the Lakers than they do about rape." That's not a joke. That is a declarative statement. And if that's how he feels, that's how he feels, but at least own up to it and don't Juelz like, "B-b-but I didn't really mean it, guys! I actually really like Kobe!
" At least those journalists had the balls to double down on it.
And, if after all that, that's what you want to say, go ahead and say it, but don't be surprised when you face the very same backlash you're facing right now. Especially when you do shows in LA where Kobe is a goddamned hero.
