Mahomes was legit playing like crap for stretches of this game.

He got going, to his credit. But some of it was still attacking open zone routes, running, throwing schemed up routes, etc. Top 5 QB stuff, but nothing that makes him the GOAT.

Even on his final TD pass... it was a schemed up wide open flat route that teams still don't know how to stop...

Mahomes is great but this performance didn't really show what makes him the GOAT.

Allen would've fukked up somewhere along the line. The difference between Mahomes and Allen is that Mahomes is willing to just take the check down and his processing is better.

Allen would've ignored at least a few of the check downs that Mahomes hit in order to sling it downfield.

Like the play where Mahomes was about to go deep, but pulled it down and decided to just throw it away. Allen would've took that shot.

I agree. The difference is Peyton and Brady played long enough to see what they would look like in this era and they were still them. If you just use Brady’s numbers from 2014 to 2020 in the playoffs, he’s the greatest playoff QB of all time. You don’t even need the first 3.

to be fair, if mahomes lost yesterday i fully expect that everyone would be giving him the lebron/nba finals treatment. the narrative would've written itself. so i think the mahomes stans celebrating is fair game.
