Its a fact that passing numbers have changed, though. You really.think.that Manning would throw 28 ints as a rookie in 2018 as opposed to 1998?? Rookie QBs come in good, instantly..The first decade or so of their career, was still hard nosed football, though.
It is a fact just like it’s a fact they changed after 78. But idk see people give QB’s like Staubach the respect they deserve. shyt they changed the rules after 94 too and you saw numbers increase. So the point I’m making is they’re other generations that can point to rules helping the passing game so is there really a point in repeatedly bringing it up like it only affects Brady? Especially when there’s no need to. His body of work speaks for itself. And he passes the eye test.

Surface level stats are not analytics. On surface level stats, I can show the Kirk Cousins is greater than Roger Staubach. It wouldnt be correct, though. Matt Ryan and Philip Rivers must really be ATG's, huh? Or did they benefit from inflated, misleading numbers because of the passing bonanza from 2011 to current??

This is misleading. Cousins and Staubach played in generations apart. One played in the 70s mostly, while the other played in the 2010/2020s. The entire league is completely different. The gap between when Brady started to where Mahomes started is nowhere near that stark a contrast. Did passing increase over the years since then? Definitely, but not to the gap of the 70s and 2010s.

Brady didn't play in some prehistoric era. He started in the 2000s and played all the way up until 2023. If you want to discount the first 15 (you said 2011, but I'll even go further) and just go from when Brady had 15 years and Mahomes was a rookie, and Mahomes stats are better. Mahomes had 50 TDs and 5000 yards in his first season. The man is an Alien.

Brady is the GOAT no question. He’s got the longevity, prime, peak, accolades, analytics , individual post season success, team post season success, and he passes the eye test.

But it’s funny seeing his fans bring up era differences. I remember when people said him and Peyton played in a soft league physically. And the league changed rules for them. I guess history repeats itself.
I agree. The difference is Peyton and Brady played long enough to see what they would look like in this era and they were still them. If you just use Brady’s numbers from 2014 to 2020 in the playoffs, he’s the greatest playoff QB of all time. You don’t even need the first 3.

You are talking to.the wrong man. I show the utmost respect and reverance for the old school QBs, Staubach especially. I never compared Staubach to Montana in terms of production, anyway. In terms of era dominance, Unitas is still arguably the GOAT. I never compared Bradys raw numbers to Montanas, either. Too many differences. I compare their place amongst their peers and their production ranks. Who said it only affects Brady?? I never did. I clearly mentioned Manning, too. Aikmas arms talent was elite. He would be 4500 and 35 td every year if he was drafted in 2019 instead of 1989.

Compare 2014-2021 Brady to 2018-2024 Mahomes.

Thats an accurate and fairer comparison because the 01-06 Brady is no where near this mahomes and the nfl in that time is leagues different (tougher) than what it is now.

Here yall go w this shyt

Son was absolutely garbage for 3 & a half quarters

I promise you i know more football than your goofy ass.

Nobody didnt say Pat isnt great. But to say thats the performance that sets him apart from Brady is hilarious

“Pat had no weapons and was going against an elite D”. Now go and hit profootball reference and tell me the WRs brady was throwing to in his first 3 SBs
Nah - you know more about football than me, and Mahomes was absolutely garbage for 3 and a half quarters.

I accused you of not knowing anything about this sport despite watching and talking about it all the time. You pointed me to box scores from 20 years ago instead of a few quick words on what you yourself were seeing with your own eyes last night :yeshrug:

It's almost as if you love football and think about it all the time, but can't actually process what you're seeing and don't know what you're talking about but it's fine. That's most men :hubie:

Brady was drafted 17 years before Mahomes..Andrew Luck threw 40 td in his 3rd year, it took Manning 7 years to.do.the same and Brady 8 years to do the same. i do not recall Brady having Hill and Kelce, he was also was an old man. 2018 suspect WR.corps..2019 was the worst graded corps in the last 18 years. When he got real weapons again, even as a dinosaur, he ranked 2nd and 1st in 2020 and 2021 in QB performance, not stats. I wouldnt compare Staubach to Montana in stats, either. Too big a difference in rule changes. 10 year is lesser than the 17 yr diff between Mahomes and Brady.

It's weird.

He's not even 30. And there are series where he takes a 3 and out because he CHOSE to ignore his checkdown receivers. But when it's TIME to stop him, NO ONE can.

I wonder if he's playing cat and mouse with teams because there's still room for improvement.
