Playoff run or losing the SB or coming in 2nd place in MVP voting means nothing to me
I mean Mahomes is winning in every category by a mile. The premise of the thread is that, as is, Lamar is closing the gap. It'll take awhile for the accolades to match, if they ever do...
Watching Lamar right now, just breaking down his actual play, where is he currently inferior to what we saw of Mahomes at his peak? Because its his actual play thats closing the gap, I'm not asking about an accolades comp, or big moments---->
because it's acknowledged that Lamar has been inferior in those areas and has to grow...
Looking at his play, what's his weakness currently? How does that compare to Peak Mahomes' weakness(es)? What is he doing at an All-Time level currently, and how does that compare to what Peak Mahomes was doing at a historic level?
You nikkas dont wanna have a real discussion, but there's one to be had. Mahomes is the greatest quarterback of his generation. Prior to this year there was no clear cut #2, my argument is not only has Lamar already established himself as the clear #2, he's narrowing the gap between himself and Mahomes...
In the Mahomes era there's never been another QB playing even close to as well as Mahomes did at peak, until Lamar last two years. And this year's Lamar is somehow leaps and bounds better than LY Lamar, while having stronger regular seasons than Mahomes both seasons. There isn't another QB ever who has outplayed Mahomes in two years...
All the other shyt, winning in the playoffs, being able to have elite MVP-level games and moments in the playoffs, we know Lamar has sucked there. He has to prove it to us, and every other QB in the NFL today is in his same boat, more or less (Padford has one hot playoff run in a 15-year career, Burrow has played Mahomes to a draw twice, Goff has led two deep playoff runs, but essentially every other QB is in a "prove it" stage too)...
So if we understand Lamar's in a "prove it" stage come The Tournament, we're talking about what he's shown the last two regular seasons. The eye test tells us this is some of the highest level of quarterbacking the NFL has ever had...
Lamar isn't even in the neighborhood of that conversation, let alone knocking on the door.
Did you watch them games last year?
What did your eyes see that the box score didn’t? That Pat carried the team on his back when the offense needed him most Pat won games and made plays when it mattered.
Lamar is not in Pats neighborhood. He’s talented but he’s not Pat.
Post the playoffs number for the past two years also my guy
These are two hating ass comments intentionally misleading and missing the premise
