Lamar is a ring away from being dead even with Mahomes...

I said in one of these threads earlier this year that Lamar was Peyton to Pat being Brady and all of the remedials pretended like what I said was heresy.

That said, this thread is dumb. Pat's current path is chasing Brady aka GOAT. I've before that Lamar will win at least one, and it might be this year or next year, and I think Josh is talented enough to win one too based on pure talent, but Pat is Pat.

Ain't none of these cats we talking about are even 30 years old yet. That's why NFL will be king for the next decade. It's gonna be Pat vs Lamar or Josh and occasionally Burrow or Herbert or Stroud or Goff or Hurts if their team is stacked enough.

Agree.....

Removed "In the end, Lamar will have more regular season MVPs than Pat, but Pat will have more Super Bowl wins."
Pat can win it this season, next season, and so forth
Lamar can win the SB this season, next season, and so forth

Mahomes, Lamar, and Allan are on another level than everyone else.
There's no positive attributes the other QBs can do that the top3 can't...
Either one of those 3 on 49'ers/Lions/Bengals offense would cook

Don’t leave out those three SB MVP’s like OP did as that matters in the topic of discussion.

There is no way i would believe a healthy Patrick vs a healthy Lamar numbers over the last 2 years would look like this. Mind you Pat had his best season imo the first year without Cheetah. So him not having “weapons” not saying much. Lamar possibly throwing a monkey wrench into the goat trajectory of Pat. It was Pat vs Tom. I did not see Lamar knocking on the door like this

Did you watch them games last year?

What did your eyes see that the box score didn’t? That Pat carried the team on his back when the offense needed him most Pat won games and made plays when it mattered.

Lamar is not in Pats neighborhood. He’s talented but he’s not Pat.

Post the playoffs number for the past two years also my guy

Patrick Mahomes
2023 & 2024 playoff performance
2 Super Bowl
2 Super Bowl mvp
1761 yds, 10 tds, 1 interception

Patrick Mahomes turns it up in the playoffs

What are Lamar’s?

Nah, still won’t be on Pat’s level and I say that as someone who wants Lamar to get at least 1.

It would cement him as the clear #2 though.

Football is a true team sport. QB is the most important position but they still don't play defense or special teams and coaching is far more important in football than some other sports.

Judging a QB on "rings" alone is a new thing from dummies looking for hot takes. If you told someone Eli Manning has the edge on Dan Marino you'd get laughed out of the room.

That said, I don't think a ring alone means Lamar is now on Mahomes level. Mahomes been doing this for a long time now

Thread should’ve ended here

SMF and LAX to VA and NC
Only components that matter
-SB
-MVP
-SB MVP
-1st Team All-Pro

Playoff run or losing the SB or coming in 2nd place in MVP voting means nothing to me
I mean Mahomes is winning in every category by a mile. The premise of the thread is that, as is, Lamar is closing the gap. It'll take awhile for the accolades to match, if they ever do...

Watching Lamar right now, just breaking down his actual play, where is he currently inferior to what we saw of Mahomes at his peak? Because its his actual play thats closing the gap, I'm not asking about an accolades comp, or big moments---->because it's acknowledged that Lamar has been inferior in those areas and has to grow...

Looking at his play, what's his weakness currently? How does that compare to Peak Mahomes' weakness(es)? What is he doing at an All-Time level currently, and how does that compare to what Peak Mahomes was doing at a historic level?

You nikkas dont wanna have a real discussion, but there's one to be had. Mahomes is the greatest quarterback of his generation. Prior to this year there was no clear cut #2, my argument is not only has Lamar already established himself as the clear #2, he's narrowing the gap between himself and Mahomes...

In the Mahomes era there's never been another QB playing even close to as well as Mahomes did at peak, until Lamar last two years. And this year's Lamar is somehow leaps and bounds better than LY Lamar, while having stronger regular seasons than Mahomes both seasons. There isn't another QB ever who has outplayed Mahomes in two years...

All the other shyt, winning in the playoffs, being able to have elite MVP-level games and moments in the playoffs, we know Lamar has sucked there. He has to prove it to us, and every other QB in the NFL today is in his same boat, more or less (Padford has one hot playoff run in a 15-year career, Burrow has played Mahomes to a draw twice, Goff has led two deep playoff runs, but essentially every other QB is in a "prove it" stage too)...

So if we understand Lamar's in a "prove it" stage come The Tournament, we're talking about what he's shown the last two regular seasons. The eye test tells us this is some of the highest level of quarterbacking the NFL has ever had...
Lamar isn't even in the neighborhood of that conversation, let alone knocking on the door.

These are two hating ass comments intentionally misleading and missing the premise 🤣 🤣...

@Dr. Narcisse perfectly mentioned it earlier in this thread, but I don't think OP and others realize how much of a disservice you're doing to Lamar and setting him up for potential slander with these type of threads if he fails in the playoffs. Especially considering same said people will start juelzing and making excuses about it like they did last postseason further creating the narrative of bias and playing favorites.
