Carlin isn't my keeper. Him making this an every four year argument shows his privilege he ignored. Local politics are every year and has a direct effect on its constituants

Presidential link being 4 years, and the more accessible explanation in layman's terms. Don't stray too far there. Don't get so defensive. It's a good point George Carlin makes overall.

Kaep has the right not to vote (and rightfully exercised), expressing his disbelief in the system or the candidates at hand. He shouldn't be torn down. SAS already had poor form. The right to vote is essential, yes, and should be used when there's the chance for what you believe in to come to represent one's ideas. But there isn't always a good candidate. SAS's argument is based on that, or he's founded on a "lesser of two evils" approach, neither of which are good reaons to vote.

That's that dumb smart shyt. There's millions of people that would love to be able to honestly vote for whomever they want and people put up the words of a man who's life was committed to making jokes as some sort of gospel. He could say shyt like this because as a white male no matter what happens he'll be good. Ain't too many of those around these parts......think about this. They CRUCIFIED Barack literally just for his name and a made up lie that he wasn't born in this country as a reason that he was unqualified to be President. George W. had so many DUIs I'm shocked he can get a license now and not to mention the drug abuse etc and his first lady killed a guy and literally never got charged and we never heard a peep. Donald dodged the draft, blocked black folks from living in his house, refused to pay people he owes money to, is going to court for fraud NEXT MONTH (yes our president will be dealing with a trial for fraud during his presidency), his wife was an illegal immigrant and again we barely here a peep. They don't have consequences to most of the shyt that happens in this country so for us to follow their fukking advice on voting is retarded as fukk. What happened during this vote is all of those white men praising Carlin saw the chance that their reign on top was potentially gonna end after having a black man and then potentially a woman. They made sure they were in line, they let the voter registration act fail on purpose, and they made sure their wives voted to make sure their guy got in.

All the excuses not to vote. It took me, combined with driving to my PP, 30 minutes to vote. I'd say that's longer than many peoples experience.

We've been debating in this thread for about a day.

I think they think not voting is cool? Yes it's your right to not vote, just like you have the freedom to do tons of other shyt. But why wouldn't you vote, for 99% of the population, its the only way to get your voice heard.

Not voting is dangerous because it gives the right wing the authority to enact voter suppression and gerrymandering so they can enact policies that will disenfranchise minorities, then it'll be Jim Crow 2.0 before you realize it.

Once again. All Kaep did was remain seated during the anthem. He said nothing until a mic was shoved in his face.

Him taking a stand and doing work in the community goes a whole lot further than voting. That said, I'd like to know his reason for not voting.

Too bad he didn't vote though. Things could have been so much different. :martin:

You just answered your own question. Most of these people think voting is the end all be all. They vote then sit on their ass for 4 years and complain. And to be real voting is predicated in having a belief in politicians and the system of white supremacy they operate in. History shows us where that has gotten us. No matter who is in office.. Dem or republican.. you still gotta do what you gotta do to succeed BUT THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN WHEN OBAMA WAS IN OFFICE FOR 8 YEARS.. You got to educate yourself and take control of your life and your community. Folks were complacent and happy with symbolism while black wealth was gutted and black unemployment double that of everyone else. That was the norm and that's NOT ok. Folks should have been upset and pissed off a long time ago.. Instead they were buck dancing and nae naeing with hillary and Obama. I'm glad trump won cause folks needed a fire lit under their asses. They were sleep walking to their death.

Kaep has already done more for the community through his actions and programs he runs than Stephen A and most of the clowns criticizing him ever will. And real actions are the only thing that can change things.. that why they are scared of the message Kaep is pushing. You don't vote for someone to treat you like a human being.. That's your right as a human being to be treated as such. Demand your freedom and take it by any means necessary if you need to. We are beyond the point where voting can bring the needed changes.. Action is needed now. People are dying now.. kids drinking lead water right now. It's an insult to say you need to vote to change that. That's Kaeps message.

It's amazing to me.

The right spends millions to disinfranchise black voters. Head in here refuse to say :ohhh: and ask why. I'll tell you why....they know voting matters.

But instead of coming to that conclusion, heads in here are cool with willingly not voting, taking away the power the right is paying millions to take away from us. And they think it's ok to ignore the potential power the right sees in their vote.

INCREDIBLE!!!
