i support kaep and his stance but you gotta at least vote for the props, local elections and measures. state and local officials have a bigger impact on communities and infrastructure such as transportation, public schooling, taxes and welfare. ppl that keep say voting doesn't matter probably don't understand how government works.

that would be acceptable if there weren't props on the CA ballot that actually did/do affect oppression and unfair targeting of minorities...reduced sentencing and faster parole for non-violent offenders, expediting the death penalty appeal process, abolishing the death penalty...maybe he's not registered to vote in CA so there might not have been things on the ballot elsewhere (where he's registered) that he felt were noteworthy, but here at least, those were very important IMO to helping alleviate systemic oppression.

Trump just won because half the people who voted for Obama didn't bother to show up.

Yet voting doesn't matter to some of these dudes.

Now we got an internet troll as our president :mindblown:

So what you're saying is people should vote for someone they do not believe in? Not saying you are wrong but that's pretty much what I get out of it. It speaks more to how terrible Hillary and the dems were. Some folk would rather not vote than vote for someone they do not trust and loathe. I get it.

The same establishment that burned/bombed black wallstreet to the ground and did guinea pig experiments on the Tuskogee airmen is going to let "politicians" waltz right into their playground and do good for blacks? I dont buy it. And I think history supports why I dont buy it.

The thing is, if blacks are going to get together to vote for issues or people they think can help with their issues, why not just get together and do for self? I dont think placing a child's care in the hands of a system that has been shown to HATE blacks is in our best interest. Do you?

yes, that same establishment will let people waltz right in and help blacks if we (blacks) are the ones putting them there....the only realistic way to change the system is to change it from the inside...2 ways to do that: grow and support our own candidates; and to start buying off politicians like other groups do...their love for money is greater than their hate for us....

again: it's not an either/or solution...while doing for self, we can also vote people in to help on that end too...they go hand and hand....like i said: unless you personally plan on funding all the things kids need for schooling, the most realistic way to address that is to put the right people in place that will....

Don't get me wrong, i ain't a fan of Hillary and on any other election i would be cool with people just writing in Mickey Mouse, but the alternative was Trump. I ain't really sensitive to words and shyt like that, i don't give a fukk, but when he took Bannon in, the prospect of him if Trump won getting a cabinet position or at the very least have Trump's ear should have scared everybody with common sense to vote against him.

Not to mention, local elections that really affect everyone's day to day lives a lot more was also in the ballot. At the very least, vote on those.

how many officials have you elected that changed the system?

If the civil right leaders didn't have politicians who were willing to work with them to force change, change would not have happened. Those politicians were elected officials. Good thing people elected them:francis:

No they wont breh. If they let politicians waltz in, and help blacks undetected, that puts THEIR power/authority in jeopardy. They lie and make racism about skin color. But its not about that. Its about the spirit of the black man. As a black breh, have you walked into a room and seen the demeanor of whites change? Thats not about your skin color. One day, I was in JCPenney and there was this white female worker talking with a black security guard. Im walking up to them but she cannot see me, but as soon as she sees me she literally lost her breath, stopped talking as she lost her train of thought in regards to what she was discussing with the breh just by seeing me. The black breh didnt say anything about it, but by the look on his face, he was thinking about what happened too. Its about the spirit. THAT is what they hate/fear. And if they let that SPIRIT that is in blacks progress and grow undetected, then it puts their livelihood, power, authority, and influence into jeopardy. They dont want that to happen.

Man yall way out on this one. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Because to me, if they fukked with blacks when they kept to themselves in their own communities (whilst building them up and sustaining them SELF SUFFICIENTLY) then why would they sit back and watch yall progress NOW thru voting? Why would they sit back, and watch politicians be elected who would help blacks advance economically, educationally, spiritually, and physically? 400 of years of hate, discrimination and oppressive actions against blacks, ends with a "vote"? Not really believable

there's nothing to agree to disagree about, we just having a convo from 2 different view points, which is cool....i understand what you're saying and the view point you're coming from, but you're ignoring what i and others are saying, the view point we're coming from....we arent saying that the only way to make change is to vote....we've said that along with putting boots on the ground, voting the right people in/working from within the system can also help the community improve/grow....they go hand and hand, help each other out....and we arent just saying vote for any and everybody...we can grow, put in, and support our own candidates through the system....the more we put in, the more they can help the boots on the ground people help the community....and for the ones that arent 'ours', we can do like other groups and buy them...they love money more than they hate us....if we cant buy them, we just dont support them, dont fukk with them at all, which will eventually make them leave office or they start meeting us half way on things....that's the realistic way to change the system...no, that's not gonna happen over night, but if we start and stick to doing that, it will change...it wont be all for us, but it wont be all against us either, which is a hell of a starting point....that's all we saying....

...anyway, just remember this isnt a right/wrong convo, it's a meaningful convo trying to achieve a common goal: the improvement, betterment of our people and communities.....have a good one brotha...
