That sounds right but I don't remember where I heard that, if it was in the movie or what. But it would make sense as normal human reflexes would get you surely killed in podracing.

He says it in the movie "I'm the only human who can do it" and Qui-Gon kind of confirms it telling his mom he must have Jedi reflexes if he's podracing.
Also Anakin had a history of racing ( and crashing, he never actually finished a race before Episode I). So he has some experience leading up to that race.
