I think Anakin wiping out the Jedi was also part of the prophecy. The balance was lopsided before 66 with the light side being in control.

This is one of the things that I think as fans we need to let go. Balance to the force nonsense. If you go by a sheer numerical standpoint, the Jedi outnumbered the Sith for millennia so it can't be that. My opinion is it wasn't supposed to be meant literally. One of Lucas' bad plot devices

Jedi had a lot of power and basically became galactic police.
I see it as the jedi and sith are too extremes and when ones gains too much power it is never good. Look at it like through the eyes of politics with liberal and conservative

My thinking is that Kylo midichlorian count would be diluted and normalised. Plus Leia never activating hers would have some effect too, I would imagine.

Yeah we need some sort of explanation of how midichlorian inheritance works and an explanation of how powerful force sensitives arise from non or limited force sensitives

I look at it like the X gene in X-Men where its pretty much random and not guaranteed to pass down from parent to child.
In Darth Plaguies, he makes a mention of someone with a high midichlorian count but not high enough to be force sensitive. I have to go back and look at that section again.

Anakin is a special case since he is conceived from midichlorians.
I wonder how well Kylo and definitely Rey can can harness the focus since they were taught how from childhood
