it's not like we really have a say in the matter. we're gonna have to digest whatever movie they decide to give us.

although i will say that as of right now this movie looks a lot like ANH. almost feel like it's gonna hit the exact same beats. hero stumbles upon remote planet, meets other hero who yearns for more, both seek out adventure, guided by older mentor, the bad guys have a super weapon, main villain is basically a junior vader.

and that my friends will be the last time i say anything negative about this movie.

enjoy the piff.

:comeon: The reason why they're retreading and playing it safe is because of the reception to the prequels. Which departed away from the original trilogy. The prequels are primarily criticised because they're not close enough to the first three and as a result "didn't feel like Star Wars". There's zero reason for a Star Wars movie set 30 years later to still be dealing with Death Stars, Storm Troopers, Tie-Fighters, another Empire, rebels, the same planets (Ice, Desert etc) just with different names etc. It could have easily been fresh and new story with a clean slate that wasn't still being held back by the originals. However if they didn't it would have been the reception to the prequels all over again.

Trailer looked laughably terrible. In this day age of forced feminism, it's not coincidence that the lead Black character is Driving Ms.Daisy status to the white b!tch. Swear it's difficult to not laugh at all the low testosterone fanboys excited about this. Guess I'm getting older, cuz I'd be embarrassed to admit falling for the Disney hype machine.
Damn a movie just can't be fun to you huh? :heh:

The "hardcore" fans are going to kill me I swear. 30 years of EU and they all want the new movie to be their favorite EU storyline. This will be a long two months unless I swear off of Star Wars on the internet.

Breh's str8 but he definitely lost some points when he tried to shyt on da efforts and roles VFX artists play in helpin bring his and otha cgi movie characters to life tho. :rudy:

Maybe he wants to be known as just an actor and resents people only know him as gollum from Lord of the rings. :russ:

The similar story beats shouldn't be a problem though as long as it tells a different story . Most successful properties follow classic storylines let this movie be great brehs . It's not even you but I see a bunch of people saying this as a big negative like its copying ANH! Like that movies plot was the first time a story like that was told ? Also we haven't seen the movie yet so I think some of these critics need to settle down . This and the fact that everyone seems to think finn gets his ass beat by Kylo is annoying me . It's not like Luke beat Vader in the first movie

Stop with this criticism of a movie you didn't see , and assuming it's the same movie . There is nothing wrong with this movie having a familiar story .

@Darth Humanist

From all the sources I've read, Rey is shown to be a prodigy/highly proficient in the force.

But has it been definitively confirmed that Finn is force sensitive?

Are there scenes showing him unwittingly using the force?

His use of a lightsaber is proof enough for me :yeshrug:
