So I don't "get" Star Wars because I think BvsS has chance to defeat TFA when it comes to box office opening weekend numbers.? :comeon:

That's always an issue with Starwars fandom, cats live in a damn bubble and catn fathom to think anything can "beat" it.
I'm as die hard a Batman/DC fan as it gets, and I don't see it happening at all, breh.

I've been wrong before, tho :ehh:

@Darth Humanist

From all the sources I've read, Rey is shown to be a prodigy/highly proficient in the force.

But has it been definitively confirmed that Finn is force sensitive?

Are there scenes showing him unwittingly using the force?
It hasn't no, but some evidence:

  • "Finn uses the lightsaber for the first time."
  • "Finn uses it well and impresses Maz."

  • "Maz tells Leia the saber should be with Finn. Maz gives the lightsaber to Leia."
*"They approach a giant tunnel or exhaust port for the Starkiller base (on the way there they fight some Stormtroopers here and there and Finn uses the lightsaber instead of a blaster)".

*"Finn helps by using the Skywalker lightsaber."

*"The codes they hoped to use to shut down the shield defenses of the base have been changed. Han tells Finn he’s going to have to use his lightsaber. Finn doubts himself but Han believes in him and Finn uses the lightsaber and dismantles the shield’s power."

*"Finn chases Kylo into the forest. Their red and blue laser swords clash. Finn holds his own against Kylo as he fights fiercely. However, Kylo disarms Finn, injuring him. Rey picks up the lightsaber and duels Kylo for some time".

I know he was an elite stormtrooper, but to be compeltely untrained in this and hold his own for some time against a Sith Lord, and possibly a Skywalker/Solo, is impressive and I'd be very surpsied if he wasn't a powerful force sensitive.

EVERYONE is gonna see this movie off top.....it's gonna have the mass appeal just based off the fact that geek is chic now. They push the mainstream wave plus this was THE trilogy of the 80's. Every person born then is taking their kids and their kids' kids to see this movie. It's gonna trend on twitter, facebook, IG, and every other site so people will be flocking to see what the fuss is about. Every movie theatre is gonna have most of their screens dedicated to it. Disney is putting their full powers behind this so it's not just hardcore fans coming......and honestly, after my excitement calmed down I already know I'm not watching it until January because the whole first month of it's release will be a Star Wars convention. It's gonna be the number 1 movie through February at least and every other studio is gonna stay out of the way of it. Avatar's hype was nothing compared to this. People release youtube videos of themselves crying and shyt. Avatar was just about the visuals.

Really EVERYONE bruh? :francis:

I understand that the big bang theory is the biggest comedy on network tv now, comic book movies are in, and everyone has a computer in their hands now but that doesn't equate to EVERYONE going to see this movie. Star wars hasnt permutated all races and gender like a Jurassic park or the avengers. Star Wars to me is the equivalent to Lord of The Rings franchise. And just because the movie is trending on twitter doesn't mean shyt breh when it comes to this opening weekend. I think the movie will def. make a billion total, only because the star wars fandom will take it there regardless of quality of film (I.E phantom menace).

But Avatar numbers? I don't think so breh.

Trailer looked laughably terrible. In this day age of forced feminism, it's not coincidence that the lead Black character is Driving Ms.Daisy status to the white b!tch. Swear it's difficult to not laugh at all the low testosterone fanboys excited about this. Guess I'm getting older, cuz I'd be embarrassed to admit falling for the Disney hype machine.

Not an MRA breh, they suffer from low testosterone too. Not ranting either, just fascinated at how excited some folks are about this film. It just looks bad and reeks of propaganda. To be fair, SW has always had a social message. What stands out to me about this one is, them pairing up a breh with a white chick as they fight against the establishment. Noteworthy because I often read quotes from feminists disparaging white cisgendered males as if they're allies with Black people or as if they're Black themselves Sorry, but we're not allies, never was, never will be. Also it's a bit sad to me how this current nerd culture lives so vicariously through fantasized entertainment in the form of superhero films. I picture posts on Jezebel lauding the film for being inspirational. If you're excited about this film after the trailer, I think you've got significant disconnect and self esteem issues. Yes the trailer looked that bad. Gotta be a basement at mom's house virgin nerd to find the trailer appealing.
