The Hobbit: Unexpected Journey opened on Dec 14, 2012 and pulled in $84 million in its opening weekend which is the record for a December opening.
TFA will EASILY surpass that total.
Im not talking about the December opening weekend. Im talking about the all time record. Ive seen reports, watched vlogs, etc where people are predictating 250-300 million opening weekend. I think it'll clock in 140-160 million
Co sign. I really don't think the recording breaking pre orders should be seen has gospel to much the film will gross. Of course the star wars geekdom/fandom was gonna come out for this.
And Avatar was also a different beast in that it the film turned into event film (James Cameron, 3D, etc) that everyone had to see in the following weeks that it opened.
WTF??!!! Trekkies hate the J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" movies. Especially the 2nd movie.star trek 2009 has a higher rating on rotton tomatoes than Glory, reviews are a joke in this age
those star trek movies are awful, colorful, but awful once again trekkies will support anything star trek and overrate it
there is nothing remotely memorable about any of those two movies

Don't neg me but this trailer didn't get me hype at all. After I watched it I just felt :meh:
I'll still be seeing it opening weekend
I blame it on the prequels cause new hope and empire are 2 of my favorite movies
It's not a particularly great trailer, to be honest. It's mainly focused completely on nostalgia (Which is all it needs to do). It will prove beneficial very soon for most....Abrams is fighting his damndest not to spoil anything...that trailer doesn't even give the plot of the movie away.
We can't have it both ways. Either trailers spoil shyt and we all go "....too bad it gives the movie away though" or they keep things hidden and we benefit from not knowing things when the movie comes out.

I 100% agree!!! But Trekkies HATE it with a passion, to the point they wanted new Writers/Directors/Producers working on the next movie.into darkness was way better than the first one imo.
I don't know why people think its out the realm of possibility that BvsS can and will outdo this new Star Wars movie in terms of box office gross. BvS def. imo appeals to more to a diverse group of people than Star Wars do. I still nikkaz that don't watch this shyt because its the nerdy white movies. Plus, you add in the stench of the prequels, the release date in December, and Stars Wars (the last decade) not being that engraved in pop culture like Batman is. The possibility is really real imo.
