To be fair what did you expect Gunn to say? It's not like he'd admit it even if it was true.

And in most cases they can't confirm their sources. It's not like they could've said "John Smith at Marvel told me Thanos is confirmed for 'The Avengers'". They ain't trying to get people fired.

I'm not saying their info is 100% correct but they've been right often enough to pay it some mind.

Fred.

but Gunn wouldn't flat out deny it either...

And I'm not saying they have to reveal a source, but if they're being fed this info, they need to confirm those facts with multiple people that what their source is telling them is true before they report it. That's just how reporting works. Otherwise you're just writing what random a$$holes tell you.

Remember, this is coming from a column on LR that reads like a comic book version of a gossip blog and the writer felt the need to reiterate this disclaimer before this post:

IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE: Welcome! This is my weekly column where I talk about superhero movie news, rumors and speculation.

http://www.latino-review.com/news/marvelous-da7e-78-the-fates-of-cap-thor-and-spidey

So anything he gets right he can claim as insider info & anything wrong he can play off as rumor or his extrapolating & guessing off scraps of info. That's why this kind of reporting where opinion, conjecture & guesswork is in the same paragraph as factual information becomes so murky. The phrases like " stlll think..." and "I'm so vague on what happens...so let's just say..." don't have place next to what you're telling us is inside information.

The people picking this report apart use an example of Feige stating publicly at the Phase 3 that there are no plans for Black Widow or Hulk stand-alones through the end of Phase 3 but they're main parts of all Avengers movies announced so far while this report has them missing from IW1.

I've got not doubt that they'll try and homage the assassination but if anyone literally kills Captain America in these movies it will be Thanos in one of the Infinity War movies. You can't build up anticipation for an Avengers reunion in Infinity War part 2 with a dead Captain America that's 6ft in the ground.

Dead in the ground, you say? :sas1:

Too bad there's not a gem somewhere out there that could fix that :sas2:

Earlier today, we heard that the deal may be done, with Spidey set to appear in Avengers: Infinity War. Comic Book Resources have since reached out to Sony, and a studio representitive told them that the report is an "old rumor" with "no validity whatsoever." Marvel and Disney have not yet responded. Ultimately, this may mean nothing, but it is odd that they would respond this way.

Based on past experience, there's really no way of knowing how to take this as denials have sometimes been proved wrong, and were other times spot on. It's a guessing game!

Regardless, we're going to find out one way or the other soon enough, as Sinister Six is still supposed to be coming out in 2016. So, start counting down the days until that pointless movie is released and the sure to be terrible third instalment of The Amazing Spider-Man franchise. Yay?

fukk you, Sony.

So something could still be worked out but, as of right now, seems Spidey's still firmly w/ Sony. Although word is the "Sony Spider-Man Summit" where they're going to have a huge meeting about the future of the character/Spider-Man universe takes place next week, so maybe agreements & deals get ironed out there.

They've been putting venom in the comic book version of the guardians of the galaxy franchise, which I see as them finding a way to cannonically weave a venom arc to marvel studios spidey should he join the big teams and take to the stars to fight thanos in the MCU infinity war

Spider-Man In AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR? Nope! Sony Reps Dismiss Rumors

The possibility of Spider-Man joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe was first reported on last year after the tepic critical and commerical response to The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The "Sony Hack" would reveal that it was something actively being discussed between Marvel Studios and Sony, with talks seemingly breaking down shortly after, though other reports would later claim otherwise.

F*** you, Sony.

215 Uptown!
Hulk ending up in space is the only way to make that character interesting anyway. Why WOULDN'T u want to play around with the "Planet Hulk" storyline when your clearly building up your cosmic world? (GOTG Dr.Strange Thanos)

Not to mention GOTG2 was the ONLY movie that didn't have it's subtitle revelead during the Marvel Summit. SOMETHING is going on with that movie and Hulk. Im calling BS on Gunn's statement. If Marvel tells him Hulk is gonna be in the movie. Then he's in the movie. Like wtf else is he gonna do after NYC is destroyed post Avengers 2?

Sharing Spidey is an easy fix though. Sony agrees to shared use, as long as he's in an ensemble film - no Spidey solos. In turn, Sony continues Spidey for solos and anything under the Spider-Man web. with an extension.

That's not easy at all though....Marvel doesn't want Andrew Garfield, who is currently Sony's Spider-Man. So they have to decide whether to turn down Marvel, and keep on their current course, or let Marvel reboot the character for a 3rd time.

If both parties agreed on Garfield, it would be a hell of a lot less complicated.

He's the best thing about the series so if I were them I wouldn't want to just dikk the boy like that either. But it looks like it was all for nothing anyway so:whoknows: back to the drawing board. It's easy to handle the series: just make a dope movie everyone or mostly everyone agrees is dope. Which starts with new producers and go from there
