again, patently falseWe're talking about "Spider-Man", not "Thor", "Captain America" or character X.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was the lowing grossing Spider-Man entry(both made less than the originals and cost more) and was panned critically. The movie had a $200M+ production budget and $200M+ marketing budget and failed to recoup it's costs.

The movie had a $200M+ production budget and $200M+ marketing budget and failed to recoup it's costs. Sony sold off their Merchandise rights back to Marvel years ago, so there's no money coming in from that. If the franchise was successful financially then why the fukk would they reboot it again after just 2 and a half years? that must be record time for a reboot. They're letting Marvel Studios handle the character and make the next batch of Spider-Man movies for them because Spider-Man franchise has ran into the ground by the likes of Ari Avad. They need to reinvigorate the character and franchise and what better way do it by including the rebooted version character in a movie and universe with The Avengers - the hottest comic book property in town right now. Marvel Studios didn't really need this at all, their movies have been printing money without their flagship characters and will probably continue to do so.
Even the execs didn't like the last movie, the emails are out there, so miss with the straw grasping bs
In some ways, Donald Glover is almost too obvious a choice to play Peter Parker. Glover’s public persona of the sorta-nerdy-sorta-shy-often-misunderstood-and-under-appreciated-but-totally-brilliant guy is just about as Parker-esque as it gets in the acting world. It probably helps that Glover isn’t really an actor per se, but an artist, in the most 21st-century sense of the word — someone whose goal is to make cool, thoughtful art, regardless of the medium. It could be acting, it could be rapping, it could be writing, it could be graphic design; sometimes it’s a combination of all those things. Glover has never aspired to be just one thing — he wants to be as many things as he can be.
Would have liked an actual finish to the ASM series I hate unfinished shyt like that. Series just got rebooted
Yall looking at this as a good thing, but an over abundance of star superheroes is not good. You need a balance. You need the first class, all star, most popular heroes (Iron Man, Capt) and the also popular but not as popular heroes (Hulk, Thor, etc). Spidey is too much star power and eventually the quality will have to drop In order to make everything fit and to,give everyone screen time.
If anything, they should have started another universe entirely. Consisting of the The New Avengers. (Maybe Luke Cage, Spidey, Echo, DareDevil) and Fantastic 4 that they've started, Black Panther etc. all In the future or something. Set in 2040 following the events of the avengers and the OG MCU. That would have made sense and they could have played around with foreshadowing in the MCU now, while giving subtle hints to the past in the new MCU. it would have given them a chance to do something special artistically. Creating a future and watching new age heroes adjust to a newer time.
I don't like this move at all.

The next step for Sony, of course, is to recast Spider-Man. The studio is looking to go back to Spidey’s roots and put the character back in high school, which would require it to cast a younger actor, Variety has learned. Andrew Garfield is no longer playing the character.
