Tried to get back into pc gaming two years ago. set up an expensive gaming rig. shyt gave me nothing but problems and is now just a decorative item.

I don't know why so many of you conflate this type of news with an argument that this is proof consoles are done.

I would think with the simple fact that (just my assumption without doing any real research but I'm confident I'm right) there is an enormous amount of gamers that can't afford, or don't want to spend $1,500 - $2,500 for a PC to play video games, consoles are not going anywhere.

It's weird to me that a company making games multiplatform is seen as a sign of consoles dying.
You can string the two concepts together all you want but it's just...weird...for the stans of a console 3rd place in sales to be harping on and on about consoles being a thing of the past. If MS would have won 2 console generations back to back you all would be singing praises about the future of console gaming as a cost effective option.

Ya'll really need to decide what sales actually means because from one day to the next it matters and then it doesn't matter.

Don't even get me started on that. My $8k rig completely stopped working (I can't even get into the bios and the mobo won't recognize my keyboard). I'm working on building another $8k rig right now. PC gaming can be so frustrating sometimes. Though it can be rewarding once it's worked out, but throwing a year old rig completely to the bushes is painful

I've been telling Sony Stan's for years their games are coming to PC and mobile/tv/other and it'll happen sooner and sooner. Once it started happening they changed their tune to "it'll never be day and date" once that started happening they changed their tune to, "only multiplayer game" only a matter of time before that changes as well.

Now they in acting like "we been knew this"

Or like dudes saying this means consoles are going away. Consoles aren't going anywhere, but they'll be needed as much an MP3 player is needed to listen to streamed music.

The money ain't in selling 100 million mp3 players, it's everything around the mp3 player.

PC gaming adds up quickly, especially if you do custom water cooling. I was just looking at fans, and it’s gonna cost $900 alone for the Corsair Link ones that eliminate the terrible cabling most fans have. $900 on fukking fans is outrageous

I hope they release their games on PC because I am so close to ditching consoles next gen. Most MP games I play have crossplay, and I don't want to pay $100 for online multiplayer. I hope Sony goes this route and I would even use their storefront if their games are not on steam. I am not a person that cares about storefront, but of course like most I prefer steam

Honestly I don’t think they should do day and date. They shouldn’t canabalize console sales. I do think pc releases should be shorter though like 3 to 6 months after console release to maximize pc sales better.

If you have a PS console you should be able to play exclusives before pc.

The to this day haven't outsold the PS2. Their console sales are stuck in the same range. The game budgets are increasing and they basically can't get anybody past say 25% of their install total base to buy a single game they put out.

They've already effectively said we want our games to reach a larger audience. The first domino has already fallen. 10-15 years ago they'd have had zero interest putting any of their games on PC period. Once you start making concessions vs things you'd normally never do it's only a matter of time till the next concession happens.

It's like how Final Fantasy games used to come out in Japan first and the west a while later. Eventually Square realized release parity lead to better sales and now they're released globally.
