Tbf I just purchased PC game pass. I'm liking it. I guess it's supposed to have cross functionality with Xbox I think?

Yeah, if it's GPU. Works on PC, Xbox and Cloud. Make sure you check to see which games have cross save functionality. It's a good amount but not all but it allows you to start a game on PC, continue on your Xbox, vice versa

The to this day haven't outsold the PS2. Their console sales are stuck in the same range. The game budgets are increasing and they basically can't get anybody past say 25% of their install total base to buy a single game they put out.

They've already effectively said we want our games to reach a larger audience. The first domino has already fallen. 10-15 years ago they'd have had zero interest putting any of their games on PC period. Once you start making concessions vs things you'd normally never do it's only a matter of time till the next concession happens.

It's like how Final Fantasy games used to come out in Japan first and the west a while later. Eventually Square realized release parity lead to better sales and now they're released globally.
I don’t see Sony ever doing day and date unless they don’t have a console and just have an app going across all platforms. I think the gap will definitely get smaller in terms of releases but them not putting them day and date and a smaller release window gets all the pc players and potential double dippers. Look how crazy gta 6 is going to be when it releases on PC.

Sony is not in the same position as Microsoft that don’t have money to burn like them and they need to have more of a strategic approach making their games on other platforms. They are still selling a fukk load of consoles at the end of the day and it’s still money. I play on PC and it’s my main platform and as much as I would love day and date Sony won’t have the same approach as Microsoft they value their IP unlike the other.

Live service games yes. But they won’t do single player games because thats what gets played the most. They own Bungie and the next ip is going to be on Xbox so it’s whatever. But if it’s got the name

God of War
Last of Us
Spider-Man
Horizon other than the live service game
Uncharted
Wolverine

Expect a wait.

The CEO said “ubiquitous”

Not some games sometimes after a while.

Don't even get me started on that. My $8k rig completely stopped working (I can't even get into the bios and the mobo won't recognize my keyboard). I'm working on building another $8k rig right now. PC gaming can be so frustrating sometimes. Though it can be rewarding once it's worked out, but throwing a year old rig completely to the bushes is painful :stopitslime:

I'm gonna part if off and sell it, but I have no idea what is wrong. It could be anything
Wouldn't it be better to troubleshoot it and figure out what went bad then just replace that? You're Intel right? They're about to come out with a whole new slot toward the end of this year that's going to cut whatever you build off from new processors.

I've been telling Sony Stan's for years their games are coming to PC and mobile/tv/other and it'll happen sooner and sooner. Once it started happening they changed their tune to "it'll never be day and date" once that started happening they changed their tune to, "only multiplayer game" only a matter of time before that changes as well.

Now they in acting like "we been knew this"

Or like dudes saying this means consoles are going away. Consoles aren't going anywhere, but they'll be needed as much an MP3 player is needed to listen to streamed music.

The money ain't in selling 100 million mp3 players, it's everything around the mp3 player.

The pop you get out the gate from releasing on console and PC is too good to ignore.
You were right. Once they started seeking out new avenues of revenue it's become inevitable they're going to embrace newer more up to date business models. The whole console walled garden business model it too limiting. Once they step out of that walled garden approach they're going to find the potential customers they couldn't reach before too lucrative to prioritize the people inside it over them.

This all boils down to share price growth to please the shareholders. They not only defeated Microsoft they've acquired about all the customers they can in the console space. We've seen enough generations of consoles to know they aren't going to go too far past 100 million customers before sales taper. At that point the only way to grow is to seek out new customers elsewhere or raise prices.

I don’t even know how to troubleshoot it. I can’t even get into the bios. If I was to troubleshoot it, I’d have to get a new mobo anyway, and if I’m doing that, I might as well get the latest cpu. I know later this year a new cpu will come out, which I may buy, but I don’t expect it to be substantially better. The Nvidia 5090 might come out late this year too, which I’ll definitely buy. The problem is, I need a new pc now. If I could wait until November, I would, but that’s too long to be without a desktop. My Dell XPS laptop has saved me from being computer-less, but you can’t game on it. So, I’m in a difficult situation.

@Gizmo_Duck how does it feel to have Playstation CEO follow in uncle phil’s footsteps??? :damn:
Uncle Phil’s footsteps would be spending close to hundred billion dollars buying mega publishers and still languishing in third place behind a 7year console and deciding to port your games to rival consoles. Wake me up when the next Sony ceo does that :umad:

PC as in laptops? If so, Sony indirectly wants to go to the haldheld market and take down Nintendo sneakily.

Problem is, The Switch 2 is around the corner and gonna dominate the Japanese markets for the rest of this decade.

Unlike you I can admit when I'm wrong. You just don't like what I'm saying because the fanboy in you never wants things to change. The day they started putting their console exclusive games on PC the console walled garden approach days were numbered.

They say today it's PlayStation first. Well guess what, yesterday it was PlayStation only. Guess thats not the case anymore.

The shareholders demand growth. Nothing I'm saying requires any expert knowledge.
