Why turn down money?

Nothing wrong with putting shyt on PC…a year + after it drops on console.

:yeshrug:
I think within a few years they’ll have a launcher on PC and there will be release parity. Sony is looking to expand and there’s only so much they can get from their console. If they lock you into their launcher on PC and like Steam and Epic offer 3rd party games on it they still can take a cut of software sales there.

Makes sense. Number of consoles sold is pretty much capped at 100 mill or so.

Gotta expand somehow. They will need better pricing and experiences on PC tho.

Prolly day one releases as well. If they do that I’ll prolly drop console :lolbron:

You can expand with software (games). Even if you tap out at 100 million console units…put out more games for those 100 million units. And get revenue on the back end via PC.

They won’t be doing Day 1 on PC anytime soon.

Product hype cycle means something. If they put those games on PC day 1 they can get more revenue from sales there vs making people wait a year or more. If I waited that long I can wait till I find a cheap key for $20-$30. If I'm hyped to play day 1 and given the opportunity then I'm paying $70 for that. Odds are if I have a beefy gaming PC I'm not a Sony ecosystem buyer even if I have a PlayStation.

At some point they'll realize they won't lose much if anything offering release parity.

I don't know why so many of you conflate this type of news with an argument that this is proof consoles are done.
To my xbot brehs...weren't you all excited about the Series S?

I would think with the simple fact that (just my assumption without doing any real research but I'm confident I'm right) there is an enormous amount of gamers that can't afford, or don't want to spend $1,500 - $2,500 for a PC to play video games, consoles are not going anywhere.

It's weird to me that a company making games multiplatform is seen as a sign of consoles dying.
You can string the two concepts together all you want but it's just...weird...for the stans of a console 3rd place in sales to be harping on and on about consoles being a thing of the past. If MS would have won 2 console generations back to back you all would be singing praises about the future of console gaming as a cost effective option.

Ya'll really need to decide what sales actually means because from one day to the next it matters and then it doesn't matter.

My initial reaction to those comments were why is your company offering a product you don’t believe in and why are you raising the price on such a product?
Sony knows their bread & butter is not subscriptions
MS's #s are floundering
I don't know how many times this has to be reiterated
