Yeah but it still shows that when something works they will continue milking it at least. I still think 2006 was supposed to be a spiritual successor to the adventure series

Actually that's for both the Dreamcast and GC version. The GC version sold 1.7 million according to the Wiki info.

SA 1 and 2 are two of the most iconic and influential games in gaming history breh. They definitely sold well and were successful.

Also, SA2 did do 2.5 to 2.7 million when you combine the Dreamcast and the GameCube sales together. You gotta remember that was still during the time the gaming community didn't completely discarded the franchise.

I hope it's an actual sequel and not just a completely different game. Sonic Team stay doing that where they just make a bunch of different games abandoning something that was great. Sonic Adventure 2 was great but it was different from SA1.

I wouldn't say SA2 abandoned SA1's formula. They streamlined it to make it easier to understand and cut the fodder.

Half of SA1 was trying to find out where to start the next stage. Let's not even talk about Big's stages.

Exactly. As somebody who got both games when they game out, it's historical revisionism to act like they weren't popular.

Most people loved the Sonic Adventure games at the time. Zoomers just like to complain because they're used to games being super easy
