Someone explain to me exactly when laugh tracks in sitcoms became so hated

It really has to do with people think its insulting and some follow the crowd type shyt.

They saw some on the net saying they didnt like it.

Im sure there are people who hate on the laugh track just because it's "trendy" and "smart" thing to do.

with that said, I just dont like laugh tracks, period.

especially if you come from a culture that had no laugh tracks in their cinematography. I showed some european dude seinfeld back in the day (pre-ubiquitous internet) and he was like dude couldnt even get over the laugh track

It's more about the atmosphere and feel of the show and making it feel like a sitcom...I've literally seen muthafukkas complain about literally EVERYTHING this gen and what's funny is while everybody thinks theyre so good for shyt...this is the LEAST original gen as far as entertainment goes...all time classic and timeless shows was created in past gens. There's a few exceptions now but its few and far in between...and if the show ain't funny with one...it ain't funny without one either so what's the point of complaining about a damn laugh track of all things when it comes to a wack ass show...complain about the show being wack...cause greats shows with them enhanced the experience...

Another case of people complaining about everything and thinkin they are better and/or smarter than the many generations before them...damn near EVERY classic sitcom had it...real ones anyway...

It's almost like dudes are saying "I Love Lucy? Sanford and Son? The Cosby Show? Fresh Prince? Martin? Nah, son.....there was nothing funny on TV until Arrested Development came through with that 'no laughter in the show' shiet"



What really gets me is how when people stan HIMYM, the laugh track is never mentioned as an issue and it's seen as the perfect show even with it (to white people, anyway), yet when they're talking about TBBT and Two and a Half Men, the laughter is almost ALWAYS one of the major complaints. Just because the show's humor is garbage (in your opinion) doesn't mean you need to dump on the laugh track. Just dump on the jokes themselves, not the laugh track

No..its the difference between going to see a movie which is good..but altho u will enjoy it the movie theater is filled wit mad dead audience...vs a live ass amped audience...its the atmosphere that can make a good movie in the theater an even better movie going experience...the laughter is for atmosphere in these sitcoms...

Because a laugh track implies people dont know when to laugh.....Sitcoms with laugh tracks are ridiculous. Every other line of dialogue is a joke and thus needs a laugh track.

NO ONE is saying this. just because the laugh track was there in good movies, didnt make it any less of a bad idea.

yall go to the movie to interact with the audience ? to me theres zero difference between seeing a movie in theater and at home. Im not there for the fukking audience. in fact, dead audience=best audience stfu so I can hear and enjoy my movie, yes, thank you.

I can sort of maybe agree with a LIVE comedy act like chapelle. stand up comedians need encouragement and connecting with the audience.

but in movies and shows that dont tape live ?

whats next, background noise of popcorn and cell phones injected in laugh tracks ?
