to be honest...laugh tracks DO affect the comedy..i cant explain it.

Shows without a laugh track bother me most of the time. Its seems less funny or very "boring".

Martin had the GOAT laugh tracks/background laughter. Sometimes something would be funny enough to make me smile...then i'd hear somebody in the audience laughing hard as hell and that would make me laugh lol.

I hate the trend of not having a laughing track at all.

Laugh tracks are insulting. Always were.

Sorry that you have only now encountered differing opinions.

When Malcolm In The Middle came around, I started to see the hate.

I've heard the laugh track on BBT is garbage

Windows 7 is much more user-friendly than Windows Vista. I don't like that. - The Big Bang Theory - YouTube

... don't see how anyone can laugh at this show at all

Because a laugh track implies people dont know when to laugh.....Sitcoms with laugh tracks are ridiculous. Every other line of dialogue is a joke and thus needs a laugh track.
People dont talk like that.

Yet Arrested Development couldnt stay on air... :snoop:

very good sitcoms make you not notice the laugh track as much because youre laughing with them

the problem is when an average/funny but not so funny sitcoms have lame jokes you dont want to laugh at, the track kinda says: "laugh here" and all you can do is :childplease:

Laugh tracks are for bad shows. Theyre terrible. Think about it. Shows used to have live studio audiences dying to the shyt they saw. Look at Martin and Seinfeld. Youd hear some super unique laughs in the crowd that would go on before the funniest thing happened and after. I remember some shows in the extras the crowd would laugh so hard it would extend and the actors would start laughing and they had to redo takes.

What happened to..."X Show was recorded in front of a live studio audience"

which shows have tracks and which have live audience tho ? its hard to tell sometimes especially if youre used to tune the laughter out...so most sitcoms used to have live audience but now they have laugh tracks right ? I know for sure the older ones back in the day used to have live audience

Because sitcoms are supposed to be performed live in front of an audience. The laugh track simulates the audience laughing.

There's no way of pretending a movie is live and you're in the audience.

Real people laughing was so much better breh. Seindfeld early seasons had real laughter. Then got replaced with a laugh track. (In 94-95 season 5 or 6) that's when seindfeld starting falling off. I don't know how the fukk u would like somone pushing a laugh button to make fake laughter

Why does network tv use a laugh track? It's kinda insulting to the audience cuz they are pointing out the punch lines to u. Curb your enthusiasm never uses it and it's funny as hell.

Tyler Perry shows I'm sure use a fake laugh track. Which to me is partly why they come off so bad.

Shows with REAL laugh tracks are GOAT. Because then the audience really reacts to some things that are kinda funny, vs somethings that are super funny. Like when you'd hear ppl in the crowd during Martin or FP or Married with Children, sometimes they'd be losing it for real.

To me, it enhances the show. You wouldnt go to a standup comedy show and want to watch it no one was laughing at anything.

For me the ONLY show I can watch with no laugh track is Curb Your Enthusiasm.

You ever watched the Chappelle Show raw footage with no laugh track? It's a little less funny.

Laughter is energy.
