So if the 76ers get taken out by the HAWKS who do you want for your squad?

Because he has way more space to operate. He was never a good fit with Embiid..but the attention Dame attracts is gonna open up all kinds of lanes for him. He'd help Dame out alot better than CJ could too
But he doesn't even do that when Embiid is sitting. He disappears more than CJ. And at least CJ can hit a big shot or make free throws

Simmons for Jalen Brown would help both teams low key:ohhh:

Hell no. Why would Celtics do that? Jaylen Brown can shoot (48% fg 40% 3p 76% ft) he is not as good defensively as Simmons but he plays defense and opens up the floor. Simmons can work in Boston because he can pass and defend different positions. He won’t be needed to open up the floor, take the last shot or handle the ball when the game is on the line.

I agree kind of. But he needs to play alongside specific talents to unlock his game. That Philly roster doesn’t compliment his skillset. When Embiid sits they need someone to carry the offense which he can’t do.

He can’t generate offense...he needs to be a Swiss army guy initiating offense and setting up guys. The ideal team for him would be to be surrounded by mostly shooting. Putting him with a top 3 shooter/scorer in Dame would compliment his game much better. Put him with any of the elite scorers who don’t need to dominate the ball and he would be better...

I wouldn’t trade Jalen Brown for Simmons either. I’m just saying that Philly and Boston could both benefit from that trade. Simmons would compliment Tatum much better than he does Embiid. Jalen Brown would compliment Embiid even better than he compliments Tatum.

Am I reading this wrong or did you confirm that the trade works for both teams?

It aint over yet but you know other GMs are already looking at that roster trying to figure out which piece they want.

It looks like it'll likely be a fire sale where noone is "untouchable" so if you're a franchise looking for spare parts it's time to start browsing the catalogue to prepare and go shopping for your NBA squad at the PhillyMart

  • Hope Embiid forces that trade to Miami. He been wanting to reunite with Jimmy Butler.
  • Ben Simmons may be on sale on aisle 5. fukk Aisle 5 they'll likely put dude in the BOGO bin.
  • Does Harris still have any value outside of being just a decent starter?
Embiid to Atlanta

Barret and Hero are both worse than Ben

They may be. However if I'm a rebuilding team like Portland, I rather have two players on rookie contracts that won't be liabilities on contenders, instead of getting Ben who's maxed out and is at best a 3rd option.

W/ Herro/Barrett being 20+ mil cheaper than Ben, Portland can use that extra $20 mil they saving to take on bad contracts for picks/assets.

doesn't fix him being a liability not wanting to shoot.

Even Giannis attempts Js. Ben like NOPE.

True, but Simmons at the 4 or 5 is less of a liability then at the 1. Plus if he moves to being a big, he would be able to score on practically every big on the East sans Biid; Bam, and Randle. Throw Simmons at the 5, tell him to study Amar'e/Clippers Blake and get to work on a solid mid range/faceup game

Ben and all their picks for Dame, that is if Portland wants to rebuild :hubie:
If I'm Portland, I don't want Ben, I rather get RJ Barrett or Herro+picks in exchange for Dame.

If all else fails, trade Ben and George Hill(salary dump) to the Hornets for Terry Rosier. Hornets can shift Ben to the 5(Simmons is the same size as Cody Zeller, but he can switch better on wings).
This is a good trade for both sides, the Sixers get off Simmons' contract and get a guard who can get his own shot(Terry), the Hornets get a more athletic person at 5 and who will play better PnR defense.

Honestly the best trade I could see

Philly: Tyrese Haliburton, and Harrison Barnes
Kings: Ben Simmons

Philly gets a solid SF in Barnes who can start and knows his role and can shoot and defend plus a potential really good player in Haliburton

Haliburton
Green
Barnes
Harris
Embiid

Seth Curry off the bench

Kings get Simmons who can play PF for them, is under a long term deal so he can’t run, and they can go and draft a SF like Kispert to add shooting.

Holmes
Simmons
Kispert
Hield
Fox

Yeah that is a flawed roster with Fox and Simmons because they both need the ball but Simmons is under a 5 year contract and hield and Kispert will put shooting around them. They can run, and if Fox asks to leave they aren’t fukked up cause they got Simmons on a 5 year contract.

:hubie:Honestly that long contract is a feature for the kings

Ok but what position would Harris play on the Lakers and what will they do for PG (I got that lebron does the ball handling)
Probably start at 3 but close games at 4 with AD at 5. Not really worried about pg duties with Bron. I think Caruso is fine and THT is a decent ball handler whose role is going to be expanded moving forward. A guy like Tobias Harris gives us a clear #3 option that we don't have. Still a pipe dream but I like him as a 3rd guy and think its the most realistic out of any other big name scenarios

They would have to come up off Fox. Which is good for both sides
