I lived in San Jose in an area called Sabana Norte near the new stadium (i was there when they buikt it) but worked in a data center in another area called Paso-Ancho. SOmetimes i also worked out of the San Pedro office by the mall.

My Costa-Rican girlfriend at the time lived in Guadalupe so i spent a lot of time there too. This is all in San Jose metro area because at the time i was working on a project for I.C.E. which is the Costa-Rican government owned Electrical and Telephone company. I also used to go out of town with my girl and visit other places like Limon for the Caribbean Carnival, Jaco and Manuel-Antonio on the pacific coast, and my favorite, Mal Pais.

Most people dont know Mal Pais because it's far as fukk. You gotta drive 1.5 hours from San Jose to a place where you drive onto a ferry boat. The ferry ride is about another hour. Then when you get off t you drive another hour to get to Mal Pais. My ex took me there the first time to celebrate my birthday. I'm still trying to buy some land there. Nice spot but mostly dirt roads. Sadly rich Americans are starting to buy up the property there and making it super expensive. Tom Brady bough a ton of land near the area.

Costa-Ricans take a lot of pride in recognizing themselves as being Central-America. Call them "South America" and watch them correct you on some in less than a nano-second. Trust me. It happened to me a few times there and i got corrected before i even finished making the statement.
I dont know why or the history behind it but it's something they are very sensitive about

However, they also recognize that they have both a Pacific and a Caribbean coast line and that most of the black Costa-Ricans indeed came from the Caribbean. Mostly descendants Haitians, martiniquans and Jamaicans that migrated to Panama during the construction of the canal and eventually some moved over to Costa-Rica in the Limon area. THis was before Puerto Viejo was developed into the tourist spot that it is now.

Australian citizen been around the whole bottom of aus beautiful place and IMO some of those country towns are perfect to raise families just good communities and decent ppl but obviously in country towns less jobs I’m a painter buy trade and as you stated before that work is up and down with the economy mines closing etc saying that tho there quick to put another mine in But iv never not found work of some sort been farming last four years there always screaming for workers and it’s consistent work but I noticed you said i t that’s really just becoming big here ppl starting to realise the importance of it but there is a lot of opportunity to start your own business or whatever geez I have to wait two weeks for a lady to come down from the city and fix my phone wen I break it ha

I really became interested in it because there's a nice music scene out there, but don't know too much more about it. Thinking about maybe taking a trip in the next month or so
