I loved in Mexico for a while. OP made a reference to there being AA community on the West Coast, but on the Caribbean side (Cancun,Tulum ,Playa del Carmen) there's a growing AA community too. There's even a soul food spot. Warm)hot weather of course. Spanish not necessary,but it helps.

We plan to move to Canada in the next 10 years, we mentioned it a few years back, just tossing the idea out but now we’re actually making plans to do so.

Only downside with the Caribbean is the weather. They get hit with so many hurricanes.

What is your budget? Toronto and Vancouver areas are super expensive though I suspect a crash is in the making. Unless you are fine with a very sparse population and small cities (which can work) I would not look at Alberta, Manitoba, and obviously nothing in the far north. Calgary was popping for a sec but is in the toilet with the oil crash. Also, Alberta is the Texas of Canada (both in economics of oil extraction and conservative politics). Not sure how it is living out there as Black person though I don't think it is anywhere near what you see in the US though I could be wrong.

Most Black folks are in Ontario or Quebec (especially French speaking immigrants). Nova Scotia had an old Black population from the War of 1812 days but they are aging and dying out I think. People think Toronto when they think Ontario but it is a big place. Go past Toronto and its suburbs and there are other places like London, Kitchener, Ontario, etc. but I can't speak to their economy or lifestyle.

The Gold Coast in Austraillia is def a beautiful place. I just made friends with a beautiful lady from Zimbabwe who lives there. She half Indian half black. Does Zimbabwe people use the term coolie or Dougla also?

montreal is a beautiful place and cheaper than Toronto. Only issue is all their highway signs are in French. But everyone there speaks English and French so you’ll be good language wise.

As for black people there is a large Haitian community there and sizable population islanders from Trinidad and Jamaica and DR.

I’m not from Canada but a good place to start would be probably be Ontario province (it’s also the same province Toronto is in). Some of the Canadian posters would be able to answer you better tho.
