There are still a lot of people out there without internet connections, this is a pretty stupid idea.

I can't name one person in my life who could afford to own a game console and buy games for it but can't afford internet. That's a non-issue, IMO. It's 2013. If you don't have internet, the least of your concerns should be $400-$600 games consoles and $60 games.

The complaint is that if for some reason, MS fukks up on their end w/ their servers or your internet is temporarily down, there shouldn't be any such restriction to playing a game you bought with your own damn money.

Yeah but that's because they're MMOs. Games with solo campaigns shouldn't require internet to play. Gamers who only care about playing single player games shouldn't have to put up with that.

It's not about affording it. What if you take your system with you on vacation?What if you want to move your system to a room in your house that doesn't have a connection? What if your Internet connection goes down? Some cities still don't even have highspeed connections yet, what will those people do?

If I recall, Diablo 3 requiring internet spurred a huge complaint from the gaming community

as it should. unless its a multiplayer game i dont see y u gotta be connected online to play. like i said, if my internet goes out I can't even play My Player mode in NBA 2k13 because skill points are maintained on online servers​

Diablo is an MMO? The game itself wasn't that bad to me, lots of gamers enjoyed single-player Diablo. The bullshyt flag was waved the day it was announced it would be online-only. The result was a horrible gaming experience which was the main fear from day 1.

Sure there will be a workaround of some sort. Actually... Damn, not even sure of that. At most, there should just be a one time certification when you buy the game? I don't know.

I mean seriously, why do i need to have my internet plugged in. What does that have to do with me playing my games? What is microsoft doing. They'll probably add some Kinect friendly features to give poor Xbots a reason to keep their console watching them.

They are forcing me to take a stand against them and not buy this trash no matter what games are on it. Thank God for my PC. Thats basically an xbox without the privacy intrusion.

Durango will not be the system of choice for children with powerful parents. Imagine having a always on spy camera in the middle of your living room thats easily hackable and you're a billionaire.

I do. Once a year I go on a cabin/hiking trip. I usually take my Xbox with me.
