Gamers gonna game
:yeshrug:

You know Xbots will be lined up day 1 forking over the cash for this and it's accessories saying, "well I don't even buy used games anyway."

This is terrible.

I have an Xbox and won't buy another if they pull this shyt. No fukking way.

But yeah, you're right.... they'll still sell a gang of these damn things out of ignorance or blind allegiance and MS will think everything is gravy.

I guess this means games will receive permanent heavy discounts or at least some Steam type of sales. If no used games work then if they wanted to they could price gouge the fukk outta older games.

I love my Xbox, but there's no chance in hell I buy Microsoft's next gen console if I can't play used games.

If they do this and Sony does not, then that's going to be the end of Xbox

I'm pretty sure the majority of people who have an Xbox don't have it hooked up to the Internet. The world is not connected as you think. That is why twitter is so poplar because you can use your 3G/4g

I don't believe this story. I don't think either company will block used games. That would be a big mistake. And I think it's an even bigger mistake to require an Internet connection in order to play..

I think its a big mistake too but it seems like thats where shyt is headed. Games like Diablo3 required internet to play. Most games now are locking out the online portion unless you have a code (AC, ME3, etc). That online 24/7 shyt is nothing but them blocking pirated and used games. Its a cold world breh :whew:

If I recall, Diablo 3 requiring internet spurred a huge complaint from the gaming community

I hope not. I buy most of my games used, or I get them from gamefly. This would just make me buy less games if I had to pay full price for every one. If they do, block out used games they should reduce the price of new games. Only the top 5-10 triple a titles are worth the full $60

Microsoft’s next console will require an Internet connection in order to function, ruling out a second-hand game market for the platform. A new iteration of Xbox Live will be an integral part of Microsoft’s next console, while improved Kinect hardware will also ship alongside the unit.

Sources with first-hand experience of Microsoft’s next generation console have told us that although the next Xbox will be absolutely committed to online functionality, games will still be made available to purchase in physical form. Next Xbox games will be manufactured on 50GB-capacity Blu-ray discs, Microsoft having conceded defeat to Sony following its ill-fated backing of the HD-DVD format. It is believed that games purchased on disc will ship with activation codes, and will have no value beyond the initial user.

Our source has also confirmed that the next Xbox’s recently rumoured specs are entirely accurate. That means an AMD eight-core x64 1.6GHz CPU, a D3D11.x 800MHz graphics solution and 8GB of DDR3 RAM. As of now, the console’s hard drive capacity is said to be undecided, but Microsoft’s extended commitment to online delivery suggests that it will be the largest unit it has put inside a console to date.

Though the architectures of the next-gen Xbox and PlayStation both resemble that of PCs, several development sources have told us that Sony’s solution is preferable when it comes to leveraging power. Studios working with the next-gen Xbox are currently being forced to work with only approved development libraries, while Sony is encouraging coders to get closer to the metal of its box. Furthermore, the operating system overhead of Microsoft’s next console is more oppressive than Sony’s equivalent, giving the PlayStation-badged unit another advantage.

Unlike Nintendo, Microsoft is continuing to invest heavily in motion-control interfaces, and a new, more reliably responsive Kinect will also ship alongside the next Xbox. Sony’s next-generation console camera system is said to have a similar set of features, and is expected to be discussed at the company’s PlayStation event on February 20.

You can read more about how Sony’s next generation console compares in last week’s story, PlayStation 4 revealed.

That's what I was thinking about too. So will you not be able to sell your system too if you wanted?

The blu ray and Kinect got me :damn::ohhh: But a lot of questions. But it will all be answered eventually.

Microsoft wants to be able to watch you at all times while you play in your living room. Whats next, Durango wont work if the Kinect camera is covered? Its so demonic, friends.

It did...I loved Diablo but Diablo 3 was bullshyt just because of that. They destroyed the franchise. The lag, not being able to connect, the horrible support from Blizzard. If they were doing any kind of maintenance you couldn't play the fukking game. It was atrocious .

They make BILLIONS off Starcraft, WoW and Diablo but they shyt on there loyal customers cuz of handful of pirates. fukk'em :piss:Blizzard
