So EDGE says no used games on the new Xbox

I can't name one person in my life who could afford to own a game console and buy games for it but can't afford internet. That's a non-issue, IMO. It's 2013. If you don't have internet, the least of your concerns should be $400-$600 games consoles and $60 games.

The complaint is that if for some reason, MS fukks up on their end w/ their servers or your internet is temporarily down, there shouldn't be any such restriction to playing a game you bought with your own damn money.

It's more than you think bruh. Some people have consoles in their kids bedrooms with no internet connection to it. Some of my friends young kids have an xbox with no online hookup in their bedroom.

It's more prevalent than you think.

But then again, does MS care about those consoles not paying for Live?

Maybe they don't but seeing as consoles are supposed to be accessible and convenient as opposed to a PC. That shouldn't be a question. IF you happen to want to take your console on vacation, it should work and you should be able to use it. Don't you agree?

Diablo is an MMO? The game itself wasn't that bad to me, lots of gamers enjoyed single-player Diablo. The bullshyt flag was waved the day it was announced it would be online-only. The result was a horrible gaming experience which was the main fear from day 1.

I'm sayin though, what does one thing have to do with the other? it's not like if the game would be magically fixed if it allowed offline play. if anything that's just the 'icing on the cake' as far as people's complaints about the game

Not exactly internet, but my little brother's roommate bought an Xbox within the last year, got some games for it, and didn't buy Xbox Live.



They're playing NBA 2K with outdated ass rosters and he bought COD and can't even play it for the multiplayer. My bro was like, "you know you need Xbox Live to do this and that" and he didn't care. Just was like fukk it... he still doesn't have a Live account.



Which also, begs the question... if you can't play games without an internet connection, will people be able to play without Live?

What is microsoft doing. They'll probably add some Kinect friendly features to give poor Xbots a reason to keep their console watching them.

Sony will allow used games but mainly they are trying to make people pay to play the multiplayer component. The campaign of all used games will still be playable.

Sony has patents for no used games, I don't believe neither will try to do it without the other .

I don't think so. They've been closing stores for the last couple years. I think it was a case of them having too many stores. Here in cleveland they had 3 stores in less than a one mile radius. GameStop is a specialty store, they don't need a bunch of locations, they'll still make the same amount of money no matter how many extra stores they open.

Yea, i dont need a console watching me during intimate moments friend. Who knows what protocols are embedded in that thing to allow people remote access to the camera.

Wii U doesn't block used games and they are just as much of a competitor in the home console space as Sony....Why does it depend on what Sony does?
