To be fair the girl from the first movie (and Skye) were just dropped into the situation with no knowledge. Dude from last movie at least had an idea of what was going to happen, because of seeing her deal with it in 1. So he had an advantage.

That’s probably my biggest issue with the sequel. I had already witnessed a helpless protagonist descend into madness in the first entry and was hoping for this one to go in a completely different direction rather than subject itself to more of the same in journey.

I’m not too mad at it though, because the ending does allow for the next flick to really go all out now. Finn got something cookin’ for sure, so I’ll just be patient until then

Yeah that's why I said I'd like to see something else happen, the protagonist "win", even if it's a Pyrrhic victory.

That guy laying out how it works and explaining that shes being hunted it by it, while actually being the demon, wouldnt make sense imo
if you pay attention to her outfit at the end this movie is a case of an unreliable narrator due to the denom infecting her brain. So the question is when does the movie shift from reality to the brain rot, was it when they gave her the outfit and she said she hated it? because she is wearing it at the end

I feel everything shifted after she left the bar and the Smile Demon dancers showed up and went :mj: on her head.

After that everything was fantasy land.

Too bad they can't do a prequel of the other girl. I kinda wanna see it but, we already know how it ends for her

I do agree though, I wanna see somebody defeat this thing

It can't be like Final Destination where no one gets away

For me, all of it happening in the public eye was enough of a departure to justify the sequel. It lowkey made it even scarier that you have no reprieve even being in the public in daylight. A lot of the same beats, just on a different scale

I wanna see a prequel of bro from the intro set in between the movies, since you can see from the intro the demon ain’t even affecting his brain. He lowkey won, he just still went out bad on different terms.

But I’m cool with the entity eating W’s like Jameis until they decide to end it. We already know a 100% way to survive it, so if they wanna be a demon they got a way out. This is one of the few big budget horror film series that rides the line between giving hope and being mean-spirited, and I enjoy it.

If anything it’s the prologue for the first movie cause it’s literally the same character and it was probably the breaking point that lead her to call Rose for the appointment.

The first had scares and a general unease set in the daytime too. I do agree with the scale of the story being set in a big city, as well as the pop star element, manages to give the sequel enough flavor to set it apart from the first. I’d just prefer not to see the protagonist fall into the same trap next go-round though.

Yea they definitely need to switch up the formula from here. This one gives me confidence that he’ll have another idea that justifies continuing the franchise, and not just putting out the same movie to make more money. Obviously the ending alone gives a direct avenue.

Assuming this does as well as it should, and he gets another budget bump, he can really get crazy with it
