Went to see it again last night. This is how you do a sequel.

I like it better the second time lol.

That scene with the dancers was well done and probably the creepiest scene in the whole movie. Imagine seeing weird images and they get three feet closer and change position every time you turn your head then look back.

Boy, I was not expecting this sequel to blow the first one out of the water the way it did, but gotdamn, this was THE best Horror movie of the year.:blessed:

Longlegs dikk suckers can take a Weider to the face, for all I care.

I like how they wasted no time getting this shyt started. One moment Skye is doing her dance shyt (that was actually pretty fukking good, tbh), then the next thing you know, she done ran into one of the best short roles of a mf losing his collective shyt I've ever seen in a movie. Dude killed it.

I love how this film married the artsy-fartsy camera angles and shyt from them boring ass "slow burn" horror movies with traditional jump scares. Said jump scares never wore out their welcome either. Watching Skye's descent into madness was just as good as Sam Neil's all those years ago. When she full went Bubba Ray x Mae Young at that charity event, I was laughing my ass off.

This shyt was so well acted, shot, and the fukking soundtrack MADE the movie. Between the faux pop shyt that was good, the discordant ambient soundtrack reminded me of Akira Yamaoka shyt.

Bring on the third one, and fukk Longlegs.

I'm still trying to figure out how they managed to convince Kawhi Leonard to become a Smile Demon, but that shyt worked in the flash mob apartment scene. :russ:

So I figure,

from when her dealer pops up behind her in the dressing room and forces her to smile, the rest of the movie doesn’t actually happen. When she comes out on stage at the end is the next time what she’s experiencing is real. :yeshrug:

The smile demon is a sadistic troll like the room in the movie 1408 which is underrated IMO.

The way it makes you think you're experiencing something and at the same time playing on your deepest traumas.
nice ref...my friend just watched that for the first time not too long ago.

There's a lot of Sam Raimi in this movie. I'm pretty sure Sam Raimi used those "artsy" camera angles in a few of his movies before. I know in The Evil Dead theres always a shot flying over the woods and in this movie you get the concrete jungle. I'm not sure if he did the whole upside down camera thing or not. I've seen it a bunch recently, like I think Midsommar uses it. This movie felt a lot like Drag Me to Hell, but not intentionally funny. The demon or entity or w/e also trolls Skye like the deadites do Ash.

There's also some Shining in here. When Kyle Gallner is kicking out a window the camera sways back and forth for each kick, like it does in The Shining when Jack Torrance axes down the door. Theres also someone hitting a door with an axes in the same scene. Theres also someone's face through a broken object. There is also another shot in the beginning of the movie where Skye and her mom are talking infront of a mirror and they're filming the mirror. In The Shining Jack and Wendy are talking infront of a mirror while he eats breakfast. Theres also Jack Nicholson's son in the movie.

Overall I enjoyed it, and yea Naomi Scott is hot. I stared at her lips too much during the movie. My problem with the movie is I only cared about her character dieing because she was attractive. I don't think her character was supposed to be a sympathetic character. Even when she was alone trying to calm herself down she was overly dramatic which fits the character. I also thought about the similarities to Demi Lovato.
