It was just the same movie as the first one but bigger :mjtf:

BUT.

It was better and Naomi Scott acted really well.

BUT it seems like the director is out of ideas. The monster can't keep winning or else these movies are pointless :yeshrug:

And the monster looked WAY BETTER in the first one than this one.

There's a lot of Sam Raimi in this movie. I'm pretty sure Sam Raimi used those "artsy" camera angles in a few of his movies before. I know in The Evil Dead theres always a shot flying over the woods and in this movie you get the concrete jungle. I'm not sure if he did the whole upside down camera thing or not. I've seen it a bunch recently, like I think Midsommar uses it. This movie felt a lot like Drag Me to Hell, but not intentionally funny. The demon or entity or w/e also trolls Skye like the deadites do Ash.

There's also some Shining in here. When Kyle Gallner is kicking out a window the camera sways back and forth for each kick, like it does in The Shining when Jack Torrance axes down the door. Theres also someone hitting a door with an axes in the same scene. Theres also someone's face through a broken object. There is also another shot in the beginning of the movie where Skye and her mom are talking infront of a mirror and they're filming the mirror. In The Shining Jack and Wendy are talking infront of a mirror while he eats breakfast. Theres also Jack Nicholson's son in the movie.

Overall I enjoyed it, and yea Naomi Scott is hot. I stared at her lips too much during the movie. My problem with the movie is I only cared about her character dieing because she was attractive. I don't think her character was supposed to be a sympathetic character. Even when she was alone trying to calm herself down she was overly dramatic which fits the character. I also thought about the similarities to Demi Lovato.
I looked at her character the same way as I did with Natalie Portman’s in ‘Vox Lux’, they share very similar parallels. The level of gaslighting, manipulation, and paranoia one must live with that curse made me feel sympathetic for Riley, but it stops there.

I haven't watched that movie before. Have you or anyone else seen more Pop Star Horror Movies besides this and Trap?

Trap was so disappointing to me. Seconding @hex’s recommendation of ‘Perfect Blue’. Not explicitly horror, but I’d suggest ‘Mulholland Drive’ as a mindbinding, showbiz mystery.
