in the first movie, homegirl tried to ignore what happened to her, until the birthday party. After that she complained and was bewildered until she finally let the parasite win.
in the second movie, homegirl a bytch
so its hard to determine what she doing and what the parasite is doing.
what you have to deduce is that the parasite allowed her to be herself (a bytch), while taking over a few times for dramatic effect, just so it could achieve its ultimate goal of infecting the masses
