Yea. *Sigh* I was gonna ask who the hell the "we" he was referring to. I've also never heard anyo use those terms irlI have to blame Tariq for that clown shyt.
Well Alex Haley found evidence from some of his ancestors by looking in the Stud book that they used for breeding animalsThere were slave breeding farms all across the south. Which is a tragedy for black people doing genealogical research because many will never be able to trace an ancestor who was a product of a breeding farm beyond that. The closest thing they will get is DNA evidence linking them to other descendants. But there were innumerable unnamed male slaves sent all across the south for the purposes of impregnating slave women they had no connection with before or after. The women had to either raise the child alone or another male had to step in and raise the child as their father. Slavery absolutely destroyed many black lineages.
That whole movie was hard to watch To me Papa Doc's greatest crime was allowing that travesty to be flimed there.found out about this by wtaching Goodbye Uncle Tom (1971 ) that part was hard to watch
and white people still went down in the slave pens to rape what they beleived where animals.Yeah
They were viewed as live stock
Mother - fukker is a real portmanteau.
Folks should read the Moynihan report on the negro family in 1965 that gives no mention of the role of slavery.
They say the last enslaved person died in either the 1930'sThat’s almost 100 years before my mom was born (Jan 17, 1955). The fact that we’re not that far removed from this fukk shyt is insane.
In theory there's people alive today who met a former slave. The oldest Black woman who died in the states under the Obama years parents where slaves.yeah it's not like we're 10 generations from all this inhumanity, some peoples great-grandparents were born into slavery.
Kinda how we call each other the N-word.Low key kinda fukked up that we use the term wench and buck to insult each other.
Honestly I never hear those term in real life.
They use the term Pickney for children and when someone is pregnant they said someone Breed har.Picinniny, I used to hear that word growing up all the time. It's what we used to call kids, I don't think this generation of West Indians use it anymore. I haven't heard it in a while, I didn't know crackers were using it as a slur. I always thought it was from some West African country
older jamaicans but i havent heard any youngers use it. the random remnants of slavery that just be popping up in vernacular is wildI've heard jamaicans saying "pickney"
Remember at first they didn't even bother to bring in Female slaves they started in america after that uprising where white indentured servants rose up with African indentured servants and made Black people slaves for life and made it illegal to hold white people in servitude so they had to bring Black women in.Most Black American people were bred instead of being imported.
