Fries are expensive at every fast food location these days. They know that people won't just buy a burger so the burgers can be cheap and they'll more than make up for the price with fries. It's why they have those 2 for 3 burgers and other such promotions.
Maybe they should make better food. They're nasty. Support your local burger spot.

well if they have just say 6 employees per day (probably more) at an average of $25 per hour (managers, shift leaders and assistant managers probably get paid more than the $20 a hour minimum wage that standard employees get), and open 10 hours a day - thats $1,500 per day on employees alone. Not including rent ($20-50k per month, lets just call it $30k per month) - thats another $1k a day, plus PG&E another $3000 per month, business liability insurance another $1500-3000 a month, materials/cost of goods, paying someone if something breaks, terminal/pos service fees
theyre probably looking at around $3-5k a day minimum, per day, per location to operate in LA

Yes, businesses have expenses, but they also have a responsibility to pay their workers a wage that reflects the cost of living. Fast food companies make billions in profit, which suggests they can afford to pay more without going under. It's not about making zero jobs; it's about making sure the jobs that do exist aren't leaving people in poverty. Fair wages are not the problem; corporate greed is. One is necessary for a healthy society, while the other is a detriment to it. Besides, they didn't mention the min. wage as the cause for closing those restaurants. The puters keep putin' so he keeps doing it.Per the article the company didn’t mention minimum wage at all as a reason for closings (in fact , explicitly refused to mention it when prodded) but instead variance in store traffic…but the thread title and all these misleading headlines center the entire story around minimum wage increases
