True. What makes it tough to navigate is QB’s ‘life expectancy’ is much older now. Geno is 34. He’s got a good 3 years in him. Also Pete Carroll isn’t trying to rebuild

Plus we’ve seen mid QBs like Darnold, baker, Goff lead teams far. So if I’m Oakland, I’d rather address QB in 1 or 2 years and just actually try to win now. #6 pick is very rich especially if teams reach for QBs early

How many mid QBs on Geno’s tier are lasting past 35?

NFL never really enjoyed flashy and always wanted their people to be like military men.

But they still took the flamboyant dude who said he wouldn’t play unless they gave him a piece of the team #1, so maybe they thought shyt was changing.

Besides that, there might be pure sports reasons. There’s a lot of 1st round QBs without starting positions in the league that actually have a resume in pro sports. And there’s a lot of other good players in other important positions that people might value higher. If he wasn’t Deions kid would this even have been a thread?

They're all trash though and Hendon dropped because of injury. None of them are on Sheduer's level as prospects either. Pickett and Levis went way higher than they should have.

You're just going to ignore Rodgers and Lamar sliding and landing with great organizations?

This is revisionist. I already posted that Levis —-and Malik Willis, yes Malik Willis —-right before the draft were still being mocked in the top 10.

Not to mention countless other players who started their final season projected as top QB prospects. When you really think about it….why do you even see Shaduer as a top QB prospect?! Bc media told you so. That same media is now giving you tea leaves that he’s dropping …not now you don’t believe em :martin:

And quite frankly if it wasn’t for me making this thread 3 months ago a lot of folk on here would be shocked at all this news about Shaduer’s stock dropping….. You’re welcome :troll:

Sheduer the black version of Brad the Ivy League Lacrosse player who's dad is a VP on Wall Street. Teams wants a confident QB not an a$$hole. Even Baker had to check himself :mjlol:

If this were years ago, I would give much more credence to black QB's not being drafted highly or overly scrutinized because of stereotypes. However, if we go back to the 2017 draft, here are the QB's drafted in the first two rounds, and if they are black or a fellow cac like myself.

I bolded the black QB's. The only QB there that I remember getting a lot of criticism or questions about them is Lamar. And, he has improved his game immensely since being drafted. Plenty of black QB's in recent years have been drafted highly and had certain concerns such as height (Murray/Young) and experience (Lance) ignored.

2017:

Trubisky: Widely criticized pick at the time.
Watson
Mahomes
Kizer
Webb

2018:

Mayfield
Darnold
Allen
Rosen
Lamar

2019:

Murray

Jones: Widely criticized pick at the time.
Haskins
Lock

2020:

Burrow
Tua
Herbert
Love
Hurts

2021:

Lawrence
Wilson
Lance
Fields

Mac

2022:

Pickett

2023:

Young
Stroud
Richardson

Levis

2024:

Williams
Daniels

Maye
Penix Jr.
McCarthy

Honestly, what elite traits does Sanders have? He really reminds me of a poor mans Deshaun Watson in the pocket. He takes a lot of terrible sacks that are not just the fault of his offensive-line. Looking back to last year, you could point to elite traits with Williams, Daniels, and Maye. I don't see it with Sanders. Maybe I'll be wrong and he'll be an excellent QB, but I just don't see anything that jumps out.:manny:.
