Apparently the defendant was looking for a phone someone in his party dropped and he was using a snorkel mask to do so. These “kids” started roasting him and trying to create a moment for social media and “bullied” the man and at some point, grab his snorkel mask and threw it. Then they started hitting him. That’s when he got pissed off and they just kept pushing the issue. He had the knife to cut the ropes that held the inner tubes together.

Buddy didn't pull that knife until they jumped him. He didn't need to flee before they got violent and since he was surrounded there was no easy path to do so. It's not like he could run while in water and if he fought back he gets assaulted worse. It's 1 vs 10 so the knifework was justified.

Those teens essentially riled up an angry mob against the guy by lying about him looking for little girls. shyt didn’t get physical until the other group of adults got involved, and they said they only got involved because kids were yelling about a pedo.
