What’s crazy is that ever since I started the gym... it’s all I can think about.

I’m frustrated that I’m laid up fukked up when I can be bulking up. :sadcam:

I feel as if the little time I’ve invested is already wasted. Not to mention I was up to eating 5 times a day and drinking Boosts.

cant eat like that wired up in this hospital bed :mjcry:

Injury ruins gains. Very important to be safe when working out

Just started working out... I was gradually working my way up in weights. Feeling good as hell. Trying to get a nice physique going. :ehh:

then...

I went to the gym with my bruh. nikka had me doing CrossFit with weights.

long story short... he had me do intense pull ups with a 45lb plate between my legs. Now my arms are swollen and locked up at the elbow in a L shape. My thighs and mid section on fire.

I was admit into ICU with Rhabdomyolysis. On an IV they are saying my kidneys was taking a beating.

:francis:

That is the EXACT shyt they warn about with CrossFit workouts too.

No, they shouldn't be. Learning proper form has nothing to do with how many (or few) reps are in a set. :mjtf:

Noobs don't even have a legit max, and SL5x5 never asks them to find one.

SL5x5 also never said you should be lifting with improper form.

Comment on programs you don't understand and have clearly never ran, gym brehs. :skip:
nikka how you dap me then respond with this :mjlol:

no shyt they don’t have a legit max, you have to figure it out TF taught you nikkas how to do a 5x5 or why :mjlol:

Don’t understand how to preparea person who doesn’t lift or lifted in a long times body brehs :mjlol:

I think Ill trust the body builders, sprinters, NFL players, and legit athletes I used to work/workout with:mjlol:

Again, what you're saying is not how the program is supposed to be ran by a newb. Medhi didn't tell nobody fresh off the couch to go out and find their 1RM then take 80% of that to find their 5RM. What you described is someone whose lifted before and has a rough estimate of what their 1/5RM should be. :comeon:

I've done SL 5x5 and brought other folks up on it too. :yeshrug:

In any case it seems like you wanna argue just to argue. I'm good off that. :unimpressed:

You have a good one and stay safe in the gym, breh. :hubie:

Not arguing

I think 5x5 is great honestly. I plan on doing it myself once I get back into the habit of lifting again and seeing what my own body can handle

But I’m not going to START with a 5x5, which is all im saying. I believe someone who is starting or starting after a long period of time needs to work on proper form and muscle endurance first. Whether that takes a week, a few weeks, or a month... that depends on the person their body and their experience. Figure out what you can do for 10-12 then work on strength or whatever your goal is from there.

But yall can do whatever yall want. Thats how I was trained and trained others as well.

5x5 to me is for strength only which means staying at that weight until 5x5 of whatever that exercise becomes easy. What I’m saying is there should be a preparation periodwhen beginning to lift or you’re going to risk injury like homeboy doing crossfit and not knowing how to do the shyt or what his body can handle because hes lifting shyt improperly with no muscle memory just because the nikka he working out with said so.

Yeah but the way you are describing the program for a beginner isn’t the way the program works. Generally speaking they have everyone start with the bar on bench press for example. It’s not going to get much safer than that and that allows for form to be worked on as well. Also the program has a path for progression each week so you don’t stay at a weight until it becomes easy.

Like these are just facts.

To each his own then and those are the facts as well.
