Second week in the gym... now I’m in the hospital.

I had rhabdomylosis a few years ago. Pain and stiffness was so out of proportion to my workout. Just started working out too hard to fast in the heat and was dehydrated. When my urine turned brown I went to ER. They gave me a bag if IV fluid and wanted to admit me. But I’m a nurse and understand I just needed to hydrate to flush all this out of my system. So i spend like three days straight downing water at home. Going to bathroom every hour

this happened to me when i was younger. my fault tho. hit the gym hard with friend, did biceps the whole workout. got home and got drunk af right after. i didn't know any better at the time. ended up in the hospital for 5 days. learned my lesson. now i'm scared to drink a beer the same day i workout lol.

this.. yeah, thank god my wife was in medical field. Got me toradol shot so I could attend this important meeting. Came back home and was laid out for days. Legit thought I was going to die from the pain lmao. Felt like mixture of the flu with other shyt. Couldn’t walk, sleep etc.. now when I workout I always keep this episode in the back of my mind and make sure I stretch, hydrate and pace myself lmao...

Hydration is probably the most important thing. All I do is walk. About 18 miles a day with a 20 lb backpack. A couple times I didn't hydrate properly prior to walking. Came back home 4 hours later and felt bad. Stomach was fukked up. Had a headache. Felt like I took a Rhino Pill. shyt was assery.

A nurse from my job invited me to join her cross fit gyms anniversary challenge this monday. I was like, aiight bet.

She gave me a list of what they are gonna do in a 40 minute timed routine.


Glanced at that shyt, laughed and shook my head and happily declined.


This is what was on that list:

1 mile run

100 pushups

100 pull ups

300 air squats

200 lunges

200 burpees

And another mile run.








All in 40 mins.....like wtf. Psychos

Just started working out... I was gradually working my way up in weights. Feeling good as hell. Trying to get a nice physique going. :ehh:

then...

I went to the gym with my bruh. nikka had me doing CrossFit with weights.

long story short... he had me do intense pull ups with a 45lb plate between my legs. Now my arms are swollen and locked up at the elbow in a L shape. My thighs and mid section on fire.

I was admit into ICU with Rhabdomyolysis. On an IV they are saying my kidneys was taking a beating.

I'm telling you brehs, when you've mastered the art of controlling what you eat the weight melts off. You gonna start asking yourself why you wasted all this money, time and energy in the gym? Lol. It's honestly the number one thing that's going to determine how healthy you are and the longevity of quality life you live. You can kill yourself and raise your cortisol levels all day at the gym, but if you eat right and have your metabolism under control .. sky's the limit :ahh:

Not everybody is in the gym to lose weight :manny:

These “trainers” don’t even know shyt. Let alone “your boy”. Problem thought he was pushing him hard considering he was actually doing them. Then it all went downhill

“Heavy Weight” is relative so it would be heavy for them as a new lifter. Also as @Mastamimd said, it allows them to work on form which you previously listed as a something very important.

It’s pretty clear that rationale wise you don’t know what you are talking about. You would have been better off just saying prefer a different method and leave it at that because every attempt you’ve used to discredit 5x5 has been shown to be wrong at the most base level.
