Couple things

Devil's Advocate was a good film. I didn't think Keanu ruined it. He was just kind of...there. Charlize shined in her scenes and of course Pacino stole the fukking show.

Bradley Cooper getting shyt on in this thread. I know he's been in some horrible roles but he was great in Silver Linings Playbook. That was his breakout performance. Give the guy a chance.

As for Gosling, I'm not sure.. I've liked him in everything I've seen but I have not seen all of his movies. He was very good in The Ides of March.

to be fair I think the reason most of acting in it is so bad is the script.

I bet none of you ever paid proper attention to how he's interacting with Irene's kid, or how his complexion changes when he's talking to her. In the movie's many (bytched-about) silences there's so much stuff going on, I still catch something new every time I watch it.

Drive is one of the most overrated films I've heard discussed, but it has nothing to do with Gosling....

If you're going to make a film dark, it has to pack an emotional punch and the director failed to evoke any type of emotion from most adult viewers.

And if you're going to be stoic the entire movie, you at least need to have a big time screen presence.....
