4000 calories isn't too much, with all the calories he burns on the field. Some if these NFL players have a daily consumption of more than that just to MAITAIN their size, because the amount of daily cardio they get from training would slim down anyone. They gotta consume so many calories just to maintain a heaviness that'll allow them to play in the NFL.

If Wilson ate anything less than 2500 calories a day while still doing the daily workouts he does, dude would be losing more lbs than he's supposed to. He'd be underweight for a mobile QB who takes hits. There's a reason why alot of these NFL players slim down so easily after they retire. They had to eat so many calories just to maintain a certain weight.

Take it from a breh who barely did cardio and still had trouble bulking up until I seriously started to increase my daily caloric intake. When you workout as much as these guys do, you can afford to eat more than 4000 calories a day. Some of them need to eat that much just to maintain size and mass.

It's a lot of food and cals but not really cause a lot of it is fruit and pure protein which half of which is water and he sweat out.
Dude bout to be built and lean as fukk. Just watch.
THIS guy gets it
It's common dende. Nobody goes on a diet twice the average calories a man should consume at 4800 calories to lose weight. The only way he could weight with a 4800 caloric intake is if he lifts all day, which he might.
Not just lift. But he probably does all of running, calisthenics, and HIIT. Being an athlete is his job. These guys do more cardio and calorie burning activity daily, than your average American couch patato who would consume that many calories and is obese as a result.

In terms of losing and gaining weight a calorie is definitely a calorie. There is no disputing this. In terms of being healthy? Then thats the difference.

Dropping lbs and maintaining muscle while losing weight are two totally different things..... and require 2 different types of nutrition.... no shyt you'll drop pounds if you cut your calories in half, but you'll lose weight in a bad way and look like shyt in the process..... different types of calories create different types of hormonal\insulin responses in the body, which will effect how that weight comes off....

Obviously you have to account for your fukkin micronutrients for full functionality but after that it doesn't matter what you fill the rest of your macros with as long as you're hitting whatever caloric number you're goal is. Chad Johnson eats McDonald's everyday and is still ripped. Is that ideal? No that was never my point, the comment was to show you can still look ripped on the outside but eat "whatever you want" within reason. If I was an athlete would I use my remaining 500 calories for the day on candy instead of a big bowl of fruit? Naw I wouldn't but that was never my point.

The crux of what the trainer said was interesting. Instead of Russ cutting calories to lose weight, He has him eating more to fuel the mechanics that burns fat. To provide energy to burn fat.

And the diet sounds like a ketogenic diet essentially. Except Dairy and cheese is cut out.

Keto with multiple carb choices?

Russell Wilson's Daily Meal Plan
Pre-breakfast: Tablespoon of almond butter and a tablespoon of jam
Breakfast: Two cups of cooked oatmeal, six whole eggs, fruit, chicken breast
Snack 1: Fruit and 12 almonds
Lunch: Eight ounces of protein with a yam or a cup of rice or a potato and a vegetable
Second lunch: Eight ounces of protein with a yam or a cup of rice or a potato and a vegetable
Snack 2: Fruit and 12 almonds
Snack 3: Fruit, 12 almonds and whey protein
Dinner: Fish or steak and vegetables or salad
Snack 4: Fruit and a tablespoon of molasses or shredded wheat, applesauce, almond butter and jam

Keto has some carbs in it. It's just limited to a small portion per day. This meal plan seems to have only simple carbs. No yeast.. No breads. And I didn't say it was exactly keto.

Interesting, I've never heard any diet with oatmeal, rice and potatoes equated with keto :manny:
