The characters are not clones of each other(when is a second version of a character ever?), Miles Morales is a spinoff character of Peter-Parker/Spider-Man the same way Robin is with Batman. You need one before the other.

Like I said in the previous post this is about payoff, the trademark Spider-Man that everyone knows wants to see is Peter Parker, the payoff is with the character crossing over and joining The Avengers down the line, it won't work with Miles Morales, Ben Reilly or Incarnation X, this isn't an unknown character, this is Marvel's top dog and the top superhero character in the world. You think anyone wants to see Jean Paul Valley as Batman going up against The Joker in a movie and then leading The Justice League in another?

Exactly Starting off with Miles would be like having a Flash movie with Wally instead of Barry.

i think I said the reasons earlier. Do you really NEED one before the other or is that just your preference? What would happen if they tell an origin story leaving out PP? It's impossible to do? The movie would bomb?
I disagree about some PP payoff. He's had 5 movies. If that were the case they should have just kept Garfield. Now they want to make him a teenager again? Tell and Aunt May/Uncle Ben story again, gwen or MJ story again? That's what people want to see? I'm not so sure.

It's obvious that if they go with Miles Morales it won't be due to the lack of Peter Parker content to guide them. But the fact that it could possibly go either way is HUGE. In a perfect world I would like to see Peter Parker first and then Miles Morales due to the fact the a big portion of Miles Morales is living up the mantle of Spiderman and the impact Peter Parker has already had on the universe and Miles. So like I said in another thread, the only way I can really see Miles working is if Peter Parker is used first or if Peter Parker/Spiderman has already existed in the past.

You won't get a 3rd uncle ben. And they aren't lower tier breh. Liz Allen is an important part of his history, as is betty brant, not as important as MJ or Gwen but still important, and it's about the writing because any good writer can make any character important. Liz Allen in spectacular spider man is extremely important and fully fleshed out and the way she and Peter get together is a good story, makes sense, and it's heartbreaking when he breaks up with her and earned.

To assume that any and everything will be redundant is also assuming that the writer or writers won't have any new tricks up their sleeve or that Marvel and Sony can't collectively make a good story. Spectacular spider-man told a story of him in high school with an Aunt May but only referenced Ben on and off and made him the focal point of an episode but it was understood at this point that if you're watching the spider-man cartoon, you understand the history of the character well enough to know how important Ben will always be to the story. Even to this day in the comics, Ben continues to be important. So to say it's redundant or to say it's bending over backwards to keep a 50 year old character and their most popular character in the mix is short sighted. As with anything in film or tv or literature, it's all about the writing. A good writer can make anything sing
