you make a passionate argument and i understand where you are coming from, but if they do decide to go with a black spiderman there's a solid chance it wouldn't be on the grounds of "PC bullshyt" at all, but on more money like @jayshiggs said. don't get me wrong it's a gamble, but wow it could really pay off. this could be the jolt this franchise needs right now.
but i understand, you want YOUR spidey in the marvel universe and you want YOUR spidey to finally get his due on the big screen. i get that. in fact i'm not even really sure the franchise needs a "jolt". newsflash the last movie, the one you all claim is so terrible, was a huge fukkin it. shyt made like 750 million quadrillion dollars. and guess what, if you add the merchandising on top of it? probably close to a bil, maybe more. in case you haven't noticed, these kids still love spiderman. so there's no reason to think another spiderman movie with old plain ass peter parker won't be a huge colossal hit especially if a better creative team is behind it. so let's chill with the "spidey is losing his appeal" a lil bit.

Sounds to me like he is making an assumption based off of the racist charges made after the Sony leaks and the fanboy idea that all of the super-hero movie making studios are in a "Racial Arms Race" to get the first black hero on screen.

Peter Parker is the one with all the stories(that they've barely adapted in live action) ,supporting characters and is the trademark Spider-Man. They haven't even done the Parker/Brock Rivalry right yet and we're talking about them using Morales
The payoff is Peter Parker/Spider-Man interacting with and eventually joining The Avengers there's none with a different incarnation.

I collected comics in the 80s/90s and don't know anything about Miles Morales. The only Spiderman I know is Peter Parker. But I seriously don't understand how they can't tell Peter Parker stories and just insert MM? There is nothing inherent in his superhero persona that makes it necessary for him to be a white guy from Queens instead of a half-Black/Half-Puerto Rican guy from Brooklyn. Is Miles Morales personality soo vastly different? If they can paint him as a good guy people can relate to the battle of winning over the public is over.

The characters are not clones of each other(when is a second version of a character ever?), Miles Morales is a spinoff character of Peter-Parker/Spider-Man the same way Robin is with Batman. You need one before the other.
Like I said in the previous post this is about payoff, the trademark Spider-Man that everyone knows and wants to see is Peter Parker, the payoff is with the character crossing over and joining The Avengers down the line, it won't work with Miles Morales, Ben Reilly or Incarnation X, this isn't an unknown character, this is Marvel's top dog and the top superhero character in the world. You think anyone wants to see Jean Paul Valley as Batman going up against The Joker in a movie and then leading The Justice League in another?
