You honestly and seriously claimed he was an international terrorist plotting to infect his teammates and spread the plague. Why are you even talking about call space, shouldn't you be demanding his arrest?

those bringing up the cap are missing the point. the jazz dont sign fa's so the cap is irrelevant, or theoretically, it should be. signing gobert to a super-max wont prevent them from getting anything of worthwhile value, they are a small market team who is going to have to build through the draft. if im donovan mitchell, im pissed if they dont re-sign dude. obviously he isnt worth 40m a year based off his limiations, but from a contractual standpoint he did his part to earn the qualification. Him and his agent would be silly to accept anything else in utah.
I hate this way of thinking. Yes they won't be able to sign free agents but by wasting cap space on someone not deserving you take yourself out of the chance of landing assets. We have been seeing teams rack of draft picks just by using open cap space. You can then either flip those picks to be able to trade for a star or hope to hit in the lottery by using those picks. I'd much rather have the flexibility that comes with open cap space than over spending on a non-star like Gobert.

I mean, I see his value, but he’s way too limited offensively to give him the supermax

defense is also overrated since in the playoffs we’ve seen him get targeted by players like Murray, harden, etc

I’d see if some team would bite and offer a wing to pair with Mitchell

Ehh... I can see it both ways. In a vacuum, no - he's not a supermax guy. On the other hand, who is the best FA to sign in Utah?

that flexibility means nothing if youre the jazz. They pretty much have relied on drafting and development for years now while signing rando mid-tier pieces. Now for starters, even if the Jazz dont sign Rudy, theyre cap situation isnt gonna be flexible once Mitchell's contract kicks in. They are gonna either be barely below or exceed the cap. So this flexibility you speak of simply wont exist. Secondly, I just dont see how letting Rudy walk benefits the franchise.

There is no logic in playing the money-game because as I mentioned earlier theyre screwed either way but also they arent a free agent destination. Whats the purpose of saving money other than helping the owner's pockets? The odds of finding another Rudy Gobert are low, and even if they did it would take years to find out. The moves they have made have indicated they are trying to win NOW. Letting dude walks makes no sense.

Now if they are hell-bent on not paying him, start fielding offers NOW, because come mid-season you arent getting alot of value for him absent of a guarantee to resign somewhere. I also disagree that paying Gobert takes them out the chase of landing assets. They have other movable pieces and have a history of drafting and developing.

He was calling it an intentional plot by French people to infect Black men in the NBA. :lolbron::russ::dead:

Only he was claiming it failed because Black folk don't get coronavirus like that. :childplease::snoop::mjcry:

You don't mean to tell me that the mod of this subforum who will go back and forth with posters cherry picking stats to back up his retarded takes and arguing in bad faith is ignoring you on this

All true. But the alternative shouldn't be paying a guy who always gets played off the floor in the playoffs 35% of your cap. Supermax need to be changed to people who make first team all nba or finish top 5 in mvp voting and that is it

Naw you'd be giving the media way too much power. Stephen A would be on Tv threatening players talking about how he finna fukk up their paper :unimpressed:

Is he worth it on the open market ? No

But if you’re Utah :francis:

What’s the odds they get a better/comparable player with that money ?Close to 0.

problem is do they even need to replace him? what if they just found a random rim runner for 5-8 million and brought in more shooting and somehow opened tup the court with more spacing.
