This^^^....It's strange because he put up 30 a game, but seemed damn near nonexistent at the same time.

Complicated to explain.

Not only that, but he is mad reckless with the ball and has these goofy ass missteps in pivotal moments. In the 'Bron series he tried a behind the back pass to Klay that went out of bounds. In G6 he tripped over his own feet and then got saved by the refs with a call. Tried to split a double team with a behind the back pass and almost lost the ball.

He responds to pressure in the opposite way Klay does. Klay elevates his game when the going gets tough. Steph's entire body language changes - the smirk goes away, his arms hang a little looser, you can tell the moment gets to him even thought it's not a complete meltdown where he's passing the rock or not taking shots (ala 'Bron 2011...not enough is talked about how Bron turned it around mentally after this game, btw).

Part of me thinks it's because he's never truly had to be "that dude" for his squad. Klay's always been there.

**EDIT** GSW fans are trying to make the ridiculous assertion that how you operate under pressure and under bright lights doesn't matter in terms of your standing. That argument should be ridiculous on its face.

We're going to see what Steph's really about mentally this coming year though.

Steph is an elite God level scorer.

he's top amongst cats like Jesus Shuttlesworth, and Reggie Miller...
...but when you start talking about dudes w/ a complete game like a Jordan, Kareem, etc....they are more than shooters...
....its deeper than just scoring.

Thats what people are saying about Steph.

Most fans aren’t that bright they just look at scoring and nothing else.

He’s a great shooter yes that’s where it ends

If his shot is off he doesn’t do other things to affect the game and help his team

Democratic socialist candidates for presidency support healthcare for all I’m assuming mental health will be included in that
If someone like Bernie Sanders wins I hope that shyt goes through and you get the help you and your family haven’t been able to afford to pay to really manage and medicate you for your schizophrenia

I am seeing a strong correlation between the posters who dismiss numbers and analytics as "cacology", and the posters who are offering reactionary takes worthy of only the barbershop, where fact doesn't matter as much as the narrative or the joke. Makes it easy to know who to ignore honestly.
It’s how Trump won

These people are legit numbskulls Who believe they are right based on facts or evidence. It would be funny if this wasn’t pervasive across society.

I'll never respect the sports "talking head" game.
I dont see how anyone can after how these fukks handled the Durant situation. Stephen A, Colin Cowherd, Skip Bayless, these dudes are the straight up villains of sports commentary in my book. Pro athletes probably use these guys and their perpetual slander as motivation.

Again, this is false.
No it isnt false. He is not an iso player. He gets the majority of his made field goals off of catch and shoot or otherwise assisted plays within the team offense. When he is operating with the ball it is almost always with the use of screens. If you have been watching him for years as you claim you would see this and the numbers obviously reflect it as well.

You're claiming this is false?

I disagree but I can understand why the optics look that way.

And trust, Steph criticism was gonna be worse after the 2016 choke, but KD coming took all of the attention. Steph doesn’t have KD to take all the attention now so certain things will be in question by the media now

Currys great amazing no denying that but I do agree he's much better when there's little to no pressure to lose. When hes allowed space and free flowing offense and an obvious win he's amazing. When he has to defend and the teams are matched up shyt gets ugly

It’s like boxing really

It’s all about the legs. A nikka can jab and outbox you all nite but if you are in a brawl or dude hurts you, you have to stand solid and deliver flat footed. Curry foundation(legs) aren’t solid as the others. He’s a jitterbug. Iggy is more clutch because his foundation is solid
Iggy is more clutch than Steph? Are u dumb

This is an outstanding post, and your point about how LeBron grew from that embarrassing '11 Finals is extremely underrated. I think that will get more attention once he's done playing, it's one of those things where Bron overall will be a lot more revered and appreciated when he's done and the game is removed from his greatness...

Great post here too...

For sure if you swap careers with LeBron and Steph, meaning everything else (coaches, teammates, etc) remains equal, LeBron might be 5-0 (or better) in The Finals. I think Steph is a great player so I think he could lead Bron's best rosters to a title, but i don't think he has 3 chips...

If you swap careers with him and KD, same thing, I think. KD probably has 3 chips, Steph might have one...
