Racism's effectiveness usually requires racists, and acceptance of racism.
Racism can be countered.
For example, in my city, the predominantly black schools were always shytty as fukk - but there were students that excelled. I've become cool with the Valedictorian of my graduation class, and the class graduating class before mine, and they both felt, they weren't super-smart, but they simply refused to not get good grades.
Will.
Unless we want to throw in the towel, and say white racism is too powerful to combat, then we're basically saying there is something that can be done. If something can be done, then instead of worrying about what white people did, and worrying about what we haven't done, we need to focus on what we need to do and actually fukking do it.
Within my family, there are a no. of people that range from well off to rich, and every single one of us started off in poor, uneducated families. No athletes or entertainers in my family. The will in my family to succeed can be duplicated. I'm sure there are other black folks on this forum with family members that are doing well to very well, to even extremely well. Are those family members not living within the SAME system of white supremacy? Ok. So, why are they excelling?
Outside of racism, the problem is two-field. We need MORE black people going for the gold. I reject the notion that black people won't work. While I certainly know lazy as fukk black folks - have a few in my family - most will do SOMETHING. That being said, why not more engineers, doctors, etc., etc? Higher paying gigs allows the community to do more for the community. At my mother's church, it is black, but the church has A LOT of middle to upper class blacks. They pool funds together to assist the families in that church who have needs, and it is just a great situation, and an example of what can be done when we are determined to operate as a community.
Well, we need to set the bar higher, AND develop some semblance of a legitimate community. We'll come together for church, and other cultural events, but we're very hesitant to form a tight-knit community. THAT would combat a lot of racism, too.
I know some of you will dismiss what I'm saying because my name is 'SuperPawgHunter', but don't assume. I'm not marrying a white woman, and never will. It ain't in me. I do like to be with different women, and those women are white. None of that prevents me from giving back from the black community. It just looks a certain way. Whatever with that, though.
