Careful, Bro. @GPBear will come in here and see that and accuse me of being a conservative.
You make snippy, snide ass remarks about left-wingers and accuse progressive socialist politicians of being Nazis, and then cape for corporate democrats like Hillary Clinton who advocate right-wing policies like kicking all the immigrants of Europe to appease xenophobic populists. Just because you call yourself a Democrat doesn’t mean you’re left wing, if all you do is shyt on left wing radicals while caping for right leaning “centrists.”

Go accuse some Bernie bros of being brown shirts, or whatever Fox News anti-left talking point you’re on this month, and fukk off.

You can't be serious.

"Accuse progressive socialist politicians of being Nazis." Can't say I recall seriously doing that.

I'll just assume this about Bernie somehow since you brought up Bernie Bros.

It's hard not to point out Bernie's constant blunders, horse blinders, and hypocrisy when it comes to range of issues. It wouldn't be necessary if he didn't have such a sheepish cult like base that I find frankly embarrassing.

Positive I spent that entire thread shytting on the premise and Nap. Bernie's views on race and immigration leave a lot to be desired as well and that's putting it mildly.

I'm more to the left than most people on this forum and probably you. Try and turn down the hypersensitive millennial thing if you know how.

Voicing my displeasure of some of Bernie's statements and ideas isn't the be all end all of left wing politics and progressivism.

Then why doesn't society let financial institutions engage in the same sort of fukkery? Why do the middle class and above have laws in place designed to keep companies from financially exploiting them but the poor really don't.

Poor people have it so hard because when one falls to poverty most of the options around them are designed to exploit them with the excuse that "hey they're poor so we can't trust them well enough to charge them something with in reason."

These business models are setting people up to fail. shyt like payday loans, buy here pay here car lots, rent to own. All this stuff is in the same lane.
Are we throwing RAC in the same pot as financial institutions now???
It seems like it’s equivalent when it suits ones side of the discussion and not the same thing when it doesn’t...
Let’s establisjh whether they are apples and oranges or the same thing for clarity...

:francis:Still framing this as a regulation discussion...
RAC has a 1% profit margin with their current markups/interest rates...
What we are really discussing is government putting them out of business.

Some of them like Aaron's report to credit bureaus. I rent my apartment and it's not on my credit report. It's not a credit transaction. Which is it with rent to own? A service or a credit transaction.

What about when they fukk up your payment history and come after you for something you don't even pursuing criminal charges and damaging credit reports for something that was paid off or already returned?

Should that be ok because it's what they do to make 1% profit margins as well? I guess no regulating that is needed right?

I don't agree with rent to own but at the same time I can see a need for such a service. I'm also not going to pretend like these are honest businesses that exist to make a little profit helping people along the way. They do a lot of dirty shyt and they charge those of us that can least afford it ridiculous prices.

its part of living in a "free" society.
You have the choice of making bad decisions.

We need to stop pretending.
Im sure most of us who have been taking care of themselves have been in a bad financial situation at least once...
...if you think about, you/me/us got in that situation from stupid decisions WE made...not someone else.

RAC making a 1% profit shows that they are taking hella losses on a lot of transactions...which is why they need to charge those fees.

You start regulating businesses like that too much and you'll end up fuking the people youre trying to protect.

The government should allow legitimate businesses to act like gangsters and loan sharks because they’re in a shyt business that doesn’t make much of anything? Harassing people and worse is ok?

As far as I know the cost are not hidden... they are right there in the contract plain as day...
Define dishonest?
The argument has already been made government regulation forced them to do that. It wasn't something they came up with on their own. Quite the opposite in fact. So your argument that government regulation is unnecessary citing evidence that came from government regulation is beyond faulty.

those are your opinions on a business...not fact.

Poor people are high risk loans...if it was up to you they would have no access to credit.
