If you an 80s baby your arcades were different than the 90s babies arcades which is probably why people arent understanding

Arcades were meant only for the super skilled muthafukkas. It was like Hip Hop back then: if you couldn't compete at a high level, you had no business playing the arcade. I seen security guards all :whoa: @ nikkas shouting at each other after a match in SFII and dudes were on that super thug :birdman: shyt like it was the jailyard.

Arcade days were great

All these sheltered console nerds these days don't have a clue

Street fighter 2 was the peak of gaming

It was serious business. If you were good at Street fighter and pissed off people you better have beenready to fight for real. Maybe even get shot.

I miss those days.

These console fags think they are sport stars and celebs now. I would dead all of them.

The 7/11s when they used to have a couple of arcade machines kids would literally be up in there all day annoying and fukking with the clerks

Yo, being an 80's baby sounds wild as hell :laff:

When I was growing up, arcades were really light hearted and filled with mostly kids. You had the grungy haired guys that stayed dominating Tekken 2 & Soul Blade and they took those games very seriously but other than that, you could play everything without too much hassle.

WEAK

I would imagine that kids that were anywhere between 15-17 back when SF2 was on and popping had to debate whether they should come strapped to the pit.

I used to play at various spots across the Northern VA area, and some were type sketchy as well. Dimly lit, could smoke indoors still (a few you could still do so up until the early 00's). I remember seeing a number of physical fights over games when cats were cheap with the unblockable throwing in MK1.

On a :flabbynsick: note, what was the old school term for players that used to do stuff like that back in arcade games? That was pretty much the only way that they could win.

I remember I lost my job but I didnt want my wife to know so I started goin to the arcade.

Her homegirl's husband snitched me out to his wife, then she told my wife, who left work to come find me at the arcade.

Nothin more embarrassing than gettin scolded by your wife in front of a bunch of 17 & 18 yr olds

LOL @ fear of molestation. But now I think about it we used to go to Crazy Johns in Bmore right across the street from a block full of strip joints and sex shops, so who knows who was lurking down there on our young booties :ohhh:

Fighting games being mentioned, but NBA Jam used to get nikkas HEATED too. Somebody get on fire and score 20 straight, or shove the soul out nikkas aint take the ball every time they cross half-court and you see somebody ready to snap
Remember dude scored like 15 unanswered points in the 4th qtr with Scottie Pippen to beat the Sonics. He shot and made a 3 pointer for no reason at the end of the game while imitating Marv Albert, like "Pipped for THREEEEEE! YESSS!!" Dude that lost was cusssing out the game the whole time, and at that point was like
d8a.gif

Jumped on him like a cougar and then nikkas start fighting. Sodas and pizza was flying everywhere
