Arcades were always fun as hell to me. The first time you saw Killer Instinct intro...coming to home consoles in 1995 Ultra 64...:wow::feedme:

I don't remember any fights or shady people in the arcades, but I do remember my heart beating like motherfukker when I would play an asian from the military in street fighter. :whoa:

I knew that ass whooping was coming every time. :damn:

Thread also reminds me of "New Roc City" in the New Rochelle which is just outside The Bronx :ohlawd: Went there on my JHS senior trip in 2006, again, it had an family friendly environment which makes it :mindblown: that yall 80s babies played arcades in dangerous environments.

BTW its still there http://www.funfuziononline.com/public/fun_house/arcade.cfm would like to visit again to play the miniature golf :blessed: shyt is low key fun :pachaha:

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I used to play at various spots across the Northern VA area, and some were type sketchy as well. Dimly lit, could smoke indoors still (a few you could still do so up until the early 00's). I remember seeing a number of physical fights over games when cats were cheap with the unblockable throwing in MK1.

On a :flabbynsick: note, what was the old school term for players that used to do stuff like that back in arcade games? That was pretty much the only way that they could win.
It was called cheesin..lol

If I were rich, I'd open an arcade in my hometown. Actually 2 of them. One for kids and one for adults.

They're popping up all over LA. There's one in Portland that I plan on visiting this fall. They said that the hardest part of keeping things going is the lack of parts to keep the machines going. It's all outdated technology and companies don't make it much anymore.

I'd love to open one in the DC area
