It was a fukking revolution. It single handedly exposed me to other genres of music. Hell it exposed me to artists from other regions in hip hop.

Ares was the one I used the most.

i went from napster to soulseek to ares..i was using ares well into the 2010s

it was around the soulseek era in the early 00s i started fukking around with FTPs and AOL get files for whole albums instead of downloading 1 song at a time..i thought that was some :ooh: shyt lol

this shyt got sonned by megaupload sites and torrent though

in like 2004-2005 ? that shyt was INSANE and IMO napster did not compare
its basically the same now if u think about it, just not with the old shyt because lots of it has been taken down but anything released in 2012 you can basically find easily right now.

but from like 2004-2007 when i knew exactly how to get any album, movie or pc game in full good quality that shyt was kind of crazy. I ate the most from blogspot music blogs, some of the good ones had hundreds and hundreds of full albums on them that shyt was :ahh:

the fact that each album was in its own folder, properly tagged with album art etc. was just beautiful
i wouldn't have a big music collection if it wasn't for that era because i wasn't into downloading full albums song by song off p2p and then trying to properly tag it and shyt fuk that

That's what I said. It's VHS compared to blu-ray. At the time is was groundbreaking and thus the shyt but let's be reality, that was over 10 years ago. It was bound to get better.

Props to the original though. Napster will be mentioned in my autobiography. It played that big a role in my life.

This is a great thread breh. This was the height of appreciating being able to get free music and burn it to disc. There was genuine joy, excitement, & appreciation. Even though you had to download each song separately, shyt was still pure bliss.

Once the megaupload era hit. nikkas got too fat, lazy, & unappreciative.

Now it's like you download whole albums and can't even be bothered to unzip them shyts and add them to your library. Got albums just sitting on your computer that you foget you even downloaded. How you done downloaded 10 movies yet don't even have the time or desire to even watch them shyts? What happened to us brehs?

I use to just type in instrumentals in the search box and :eat:

I discovered one called Lets Grow.. Thought the beat was nice but had no idea who it was by... Did a lil research and found Royce Da 5'9"...

Another beat I used to think was the illest shyt of all time was this...

My computer crashed I was never able to find it again and napster was long gone... It took me YEARS to find this shyt.. By the time I found it I was just :ehh: about it..
