The Free & The Uplifted
feeling wondrous...hit and held my half supported headstand today in my yoga practice (5th in the pic set)....now if I can nail the balance and get those legs up I can start moving into other inversions.

Mentioned before that I was going to skip leg day for a couple cycles. Originally planned on just hitting abs hard today and doing some light weight leg work and stretching. Ready to leave for the gym and completely changed my mind. Just went and slammed a pre-workout cause I'm gonna man up and squat :smugdraper:

Yeah. I always take it easy if it's been awhile. I'll start it off with a wussy-ish weight like 135 lbs. and increment slowly.

Smith Machine has it's benefits :manny:

I shifted towards using that for higher reps, less taxing on my old man lower back

Well, depending on the exercise, it does. I don't like the restrictive nature of the guide bars for squats. For other things like military press and bench press, I like that it lets you use more power for the press and less for balancing the barbell.

10-4. It's not a big deal if you have to lower the barbell if you know you can't complete the movement.

Debating whether or not to do squats more than once a week (I normally get 3-4 days in). But I don't know if my budget can take the possibility of my quads getting bigger :sadcam:
